Having some issues with Medium coverage base!

So I'd finally figured out that my correct foundation match (at least while I have a bit of a tan) is 8 scoops of Ivory with 1 scoop Warm Gold. Recently I ordered a sample of the Medium coverage Ivory base because I felt I was having to apply too much of the Original. I am SOOO in love with the coverage this gives and the overall look of it. It looks so creamy and polished! I can't believe I can get a result like that from a powder mineral foundation! Unfortunately, I'm having a couple problems with it.

First, I'm really struggling with finding my color match. I know the instructions say that more of the colored base will be needed with the Medium coverage, so I started with a bit more than with the Original. Basically I've gone back and forth between darkening it and lightening it over and over and I'm just not getting a match. It really seems like the whole tone is off on it, which is strange since it's a perfect match with Original. I just can't figure out how the Ivory base could change the overall color of the foundation. This just looks way too gold for me. It's not matching well at all. Could it be possible that I'll need a different colored base with the Medium coverage Ivory base? I really only have enough for one more mixture before my Ivory sample is gone so I want to use it wisely! The only thing I can think of is to maybe add some Olive, because I need to tone down brightish gold look.

Also, I seem to experience some fairly intense itching with the Medium base. It was so bad yesterday that I almost washed my face just to get it off; the only reason I didn't was because I wasn't home! It doesn't seem so bad today though so maybe my skin is adjusting. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this same issue?

Thanks in advance for any and all help! :)

If you are 1:8 in Original, the easiest route is to start with 1:6 in Medium and then add another scoop of white if needed. I am thinking you will end up at 1:7.

I know it says you will need more color when going up in coverage, but it is just way easier to accomplish that by using less white IMO. ;)

Olive might correct the batch you have, but I would probably just start over if you need to order more Ivory anyway. The Original coverage formula is also much more forgiving in shade as it is lighter coverage. It is possible that it really does not match as well as you thought. If you think Warm Gold is too golden, Olive is a good next stop. You will be about 1:11 or 12 in Olive.

As for the itching, there is not that much of a difference in the two formulas....but maybe the ingredient added for coverage (likely titanium dioxide) does not agree with your skin. If it was just slight itching, I recommend looking into the hydration of your skin. A slight formula change could possibly upset the hydration balance. If it was severe itching, I would try something else altoghther, or just stick with layering the Original.
