Stash Update!!!

You've seen my stash grow from the time I discovered SN ~2007 through the apartment I had until January 2010. Don't remember?

Image

Oh, NOW you remember :) How could you forget?

Most of you also know that I bought a house in January, which means my stash moved again! This time, I got... (wait for it)....

A WALK IN CLOSET!!! of my very own :D

Image

It's narrow, so I can't really take a picture of the whole closet in all its glory, but it's the makeup you want to see anyhow, isn't it?

Image

My closet has been a work in progress for awhile now, but i finally ordered more magnets for the jars that didn't have them and i think it's a masterpiece! muahahahaha! What you can't see is that this closet also houses all of my jewelry, an elevated shelf of shoes! glorious shoes! and a wall of hats and handbags. In short, my closet is all things girly. Want to play?!?!?

I love your closet!

I have all my makeup (except for a few lippies) in the downstairs bathroom. The sheer amount of makeup is everywhere and sometimes overwhelming. Bins and bins on shelves in the (IKEA?) cabinet; on the counters, lippies hanging in a jewelry hanger, etc.

I wish I had more organization.

It has been referred to "the makeup room" or "Terri's room".

If I didn't like it or know I will never wear it, I try to prune it. I mostly only wear SN these days but there's a few others that have space on my wall (TMM, Dreamworld, Dayna's, meow, 100% pure) I do have a box (of mostly shadows) in the upstairs bathroom from my sampling days (i probably tried upwards of 50 companies when i stopped using sheer cover). I started in on the magnets pretty early though (can you believe all of my lippies used to fit in one of those bags? truth be told i think that WAS all of the SN lippies at the time)

It's nice to have a space isn't it? :D

Great closet, Samantha! How did you get all your eyeshadows and lippies magnetised? I live in a small room at a residency hall this year as I decided to go back to university and retrain for another career, but brought my ever increasing SN stash with me and looking for a creative solution.

It's that time of year again- By the end of the week I should have 11 costumes for Halloween 2012. Here are the ones that I used SN in cool (and very durable) ways:

Image
For my mummy costume, I used the cream concealer stick, menage lipgloss, and black cream liner

Image
Scarlet lipstain added oomph to my Little Red Riding Hood

Image
My Night Owl look used bombshell lipstick and black cream liner to great effect. I also used zero and coal shadows. I wore this without fading for over 12 hours

Image
For my dragon scales, I used Canary, Safety, Wild Child, and Heat Shadows over Stick 'em primer with black cream liner for details. Lips have Trixie and Mango with a dusting of Lucky shadow on top. I wore this without fading for ~7 hours

Image
This is a freehanded butterfly face (i had a butterfly costume) over stick 'em with SN's black cream liner, a touch of white pencil liner, and SN's Safety shadow and a touch of SN's RedHot shadow. Casual Red on lips. I wore this without fading for over 12 hours

I buy 1" round magnets with self-adhesive on them off ebay and use those little round sticker labels to write the name of the shadow on the visible side of the magnet

I had 11 Halloween costumes this year (Steampunk, Mummy, Little Red Riding Hood, Ghostbuster, Night Owl, Dragon, Butterfly, Ninja, Angel, Devil, Genie) and when it came to face paint, I stayed true to my minerals and SN never failed me. SN doesn't build a Halloween kit, but if you wanted to build your own, these were the products I used the most.

(stick em, cream concealer 1, film noir, coal, zero, safety, swamp, canary, and bombshell)

My 2012 Halloween Makeup Must-Haves:
ImageImageImage
Stick 'Em Primer: to make that look last
Cream Concealer: For a clean slate before total transformation
Black Cream Liner: For any face painting details required

SN Shadows in Halloween Colors: Black(Coal), White(Zero), Orange(Safety), Green(Swamp), and Yellow(Canary)

Red Lipstick/Stain: Multipurpose and dramatic

I love what you have done with your makeup stash, particularly on the magnetic boards. I purchased two magnetic boards and a roll of magnetic tape and put everything up, but stuff keeps falling off. My eyeshadows and blushes keep separating from the magnetic sticky tape and falling off the board. The magnetic tape is very strong from the magnetic hold standpoint, it is the adhesive that is an issue.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
