How many of you have managed to spend over a grand at Silk Naturals? Just so I don't feel so alone or embarassed, because I just tallied up over two years of orders after placing a huge order.

I prefer not to look at it from that perspective but seeing as i have every lippie and almost every eyeshadow, as well as at least a sample size of every blush and glow and maybe half the brushes and half the skincare.... let's just say i raise my hand...

1k after 2 years? That doesn't sound that horrible! Makeup is a significant hobby for some folks, hobbies cost money. Don't be embarrassed =)

I'm only at about $500 for silk naturals, but I only really started ordering SN late last year, lol. My makeup $$ before that went to other stores, and I am still a bit of a makeup whore, so there are plenty of other places taking my money.
I decided a while ago (when I realised there are about one hundred mineral eyeshadows in my 'currently using' pile, and bags and bags that didn't work for me) that collecting mineral makeup is my hobby, it's not that expensive as far as hobbies go, and it makes me happy

As long as you aren't spending the mortgage money or sending the kids to school without brekkie so you can get your fix then why not enjoy

At least, that's what I am telling myself

I have definitely hit the $1000 mark plus several more to a handful of other companies, but I am with Lily, it's a hobby. It's relativley cheaps as hobbies goes and it makes me happy to play with all the lovley pigments

I made my first order on January 25th of THIS year and have somehow managed to spend over $200 already. Hopefully my ordering will slow down but if not, I'll be with you in roughly 4 months

Phew! I thought I was bad...I just passed $300 since mid November. I have ordered almost every single week in that time period (and twice in a week at least once), but I have been mainly doing smaller orders. Somehow, less than $20 a week sounded better than almost $100 a month...

IDK how much I've spent but I do know I have a monthly budget for makeup. You know, the necessities -- food, clothing, transportation, makeup.

Well, if it's something you enjoy and can afford without causing yourself difficulties, why not?! I wouldn't like to say how much I've spent.
I'll be frank, a lot of it was impulse purchases fuelled by enthusiasm. I bought a lot of colours which didn't work for me but which quickly found new and highly appreciative homes. I've slowed down a lot lately. I know what works for me and I'd rather be able to indulge in having what really suits me rather than every new whimsical colour and struggle to pay bills. (That said, I've never found a duff colour here yet, so you're quite safe buying even if in the 'gloriously impulsive' stage of SN addiction).
I won't be spending much from now on because of how well these colours last - I simply won't need to - but I say that as high praise because I'll be shopping here and buying these things that are right for me for as long as they're made - and that's the largest part of my 'pocket money' for everything (and I mean everything, household, clothes, recreation, nice food, etc) Might not be worth much to the business, but it's all I've got and my first choice for treats.
