Misc Questions...(toner concentrates, danny, brownsugar...)

So, another question….
My first one of the day is in the gumball thread but I think I will post here again in case people aren’t looking through that anymore…
 I know what distilled water is, but I don’t' think I can find it here (have searched in all the shops - maybe there is an Irish word for it?). Can I use regular bottled water, like Evian? Or does that have too many minerals, etc. in it?
Love how the Floral concentrate smells. I absolutely LOVE sandalwood, so I cannot wait to try it out.
*hoping DH, who works in a lab, will be able to bring me some distilled water home. Still cannot find it in the shops but they have it in his lab…. 
 Second question…
How similar are Danny & Gargle Blaster? What are the differences? I have heard them both referred to as being similar to EDMs Cyprus, which makes me think they are very similar…I am leaning towards Danny as I have a sample of GB and I find it a bit too shimmery, and I don’t see the green coming out, even with a base to stick to (although, granted, I only tried on my hand, - I also tried both Dreamy and Vineyard on my hand and they look very similar, identical even; but when they are on my eyes (I tried one eye for each colour) they look like completely different colours, so GB might turn green on my eyes…….)
But I am very enticed by the velvet/stain texture of Danny…
 While I am at it…what is the difference between Chestnut and Brown Sugar? I have Chestnut, and am really., really liking it, but I have seen such raves about Brown Sugar….
Any help?
Thanks!!

Chestnut is way more coppery than Brown Sugar. I prefer Chestunut myself, but I may be in the minority - or it could just be that I do coppers really well. Brown Sugar is a nice colour, too, but I don't find myself reaching for it very often.

Try Gargleblaster on your eyes - again, minority, but I like that one better than Danny. Danny has more of a satin finish and isn't quite the same shade of green - it's more of a grey-green, and more muted.

I get my distilled water at the drug store- regular grocery stores don't really stock it here. I think Evian or any bottled spring water would work just fine. Generally the biggest source of contamination is just the spores and bacteria that naturally live in your house. Even if you have a super clean house there's just things that float around in the air. Don't worry too much about the water...

I have Brown Sugar and to me it has a bit of copper in it, but not too much. I like it as a crease color, it seems a bit light for a liner shade, at least for me.

I don't have Gargleblaster, so I can't compare Danny with it, but I really like Danny. The fact that it is somewhere betwen gray and green makes it more versatile to me. Different shades that you wear with it bring out the gray or green in it. (does that make sense :? ) and I love the satin finish!

HTH ;)

Thanks Rhys,
I quite like Chestnut, SN is the first exposure I have had to coppers, and I love how Karen accents so many things with the copper. Not sure if I can pull chestnut off, but I do wear it! It is such a unique colour, and I tend to use it sparsely with something like Fete or even Plush.
I think I will have to get Brown Sugar since it sounds very different.
I will try GB on my eyes tonight before I make up my mind. I want to place the order tomorrow so that it ships Friday so I’ll have to do some experiments tonight.
The other one I am on the fence about is Rizzo. I love idolize, and I know they are similar. I find idolize a bit much for work, it shows up very blue on me, which I love, but I find purples/greys to be more of a neutral on me, and from my research, Rizzo is a tad more grey.

Thanks Karen!!, I never thought to ask at the drug store, will pop into one on the way home. I am pretty sure there are loads of mould spores, etc in my house…I have asthma and so I can tell when they get bad in the air…Ireland seems to have a lot more than what I am used to back home in Canada…any way to avoid this contaminating the toners? Or, are the preservatives in the concentrates enough to deal with this? DH has a clean room at the lab…haha, that might be a bit dramatic though…and I can already anticipate his answer to my request to mix my toners there…he is already suspicious of my request for distilled water!

Will definitely be mixing the floral toner tonight.

Oh, one last question. If I were to use an old pore refining toner bottle to hold the toner mix, what is the best way to go about washing it? Should I wash with soap and water and then rinse with the distilled water to get rid of the bits in the regular tap water? What are other people doing?

Hehe...DH has gotten used to my weirdo requests- but every once in a while I can still get an eye roll out of him if I try really hard. I don't think you need a clean room- the second you bring it out of the clean room environment the spores will attack. Think bread mold- same thing- decay is part of the natural cycle of things. The preservatives get challenge tested against normal household bacterial loads so they should stay stable. It's just a matter of not going out of your way to introduce bacteria into it that will tax the preservative system unnecessarily.

A distilled water rinse isn't a bad idea at all...

Thanks Karen!
I get plenty of eye rolling, haha...and laughs, so it's all good.
He got the reason for the distilled water out of me! haha, he asked if it was for my 'blemishes' to which I replied, yes of course! I am mixing something for my blemishes! He just wouldn't get the reason for a toner in the first place...let along explaining why the concentrates, etc...much easier to give as little information as necessary.
and I guess I am not allowed in the clean room :( only trained personal, and there is no way that he'd do my mixes anyhow.!! haha, so home will have to do :) thanks again Karen.

lwoodall10 - thanks! I think I am convinced on BS, so that is in my cart now. I love the copper bits in Karen's e/s, they work really well with my green eyes. And it is something I haven't seen anywhere else.
I have just the sample of GB, and I finally put it on my eyes just now. It does look much more green than it did in the swatch on my hand. So that is a definite bonus. However, I have enough to get me through for a while, so I think I will go with Danny and if I get through my GB sample, I'll get the FS one. I really like the idea of grey/green. That does appeal to me a lot.
so thanks!!

I think you will like Brown Sugar. :)

I swatched Idolize and Rizzo and on me Idolize shows silvery/lilac and Rizzo is in the same family, but a lot more of the grey comes through.
