Gold Blush or Berry Crush?

Post by feyith » Wed Jan 06, 2010 4:26 pm

Sadly, "gold" and "blush" and "berry" are all too popular words; trying to do a search, it ignored all of them. :(

I have rosy lips with golden/peachy undertones and was wondering if the "more pigmented" description on Berry Crush would be a good or bad thing compared to Gold Blush?

For example, Pout and Soft are supposed to be more sheer than Carnation and Daydream but Pout and Soft look more pink on me than Carnation and Daydream do. Carnation and Daydream look orange/peachy - and Breathless looks brown.

It's really weird because my lips are the exact color that Breathless looks like in the tube; but when applied, Infatuation and Fig Leaf are a truer match.

I'm thinking about ordering Aria (is it similar to Maiden?), Rhapsody (similar to Centerfold?), Bloom (similar to Cultured?) and one of the gold pinks (which I don't have any reference to go by yet). Please help me decide! Thanks! :D

Emma,

I honestly have no clue what color my lips are. I know they are not super pigmented and I can't wear nudes unless they have pink in them otherwise it looks like I smeared mud on them ewww.... :(

Having said that, Gold Blush does not show up on me, just a slight goldy sheen. Berry Crush, however, is my favorite lippie. I have actually gone through a whole tube of it, unheard of for me. It show on me as shimmery peachy pink color.

I don't know if that helps at all... :?

gold blush is a pale pink gloss with soft gold shimmer. On your lips, it's more going to pleasantly perk them up the way a clear or very sheer gloss does. It's very subtle but very pretty for an everyday perk me up color. It's NOT a statement color or even a blatant "i'm wearing lip color" color. It's just pretty.

berry crush is soft pink with metallic gold sheen- a very beach babe kind of color and one of my favorites, especially in the summer. It's less sheer than gold blush and because of it being a metallic sheen and can sometimes look a bit frosted.

I love both. If you want something in between the two, try precious.

I seem to like similar colours to you (I LOVE fig leaf and infatuation is pretty good on me too) and berry crush was awful on me. Way too frosted and gold-y, it made me look super 80s. That might be because I am pretty pale though, it might look better on you than me.
I haven't tried gold blush.

Swatched on the back of my hand Cultured and Aria are very close to Breathless. Maiden is close, too, but it is slightly more peach. These will still look slightly different on. Cultured is more pigmented that the other two but not necessarily darker. Aria is the darkest in tone of the 4 but it is still sheer.

Rhapsody is very close to Birthday Suit. If you think Breathless is about as brown as you can go, skip Rhapsody. Centerfold is a paler and pinker nude. It would be a better choice.

Gold Blush will most likely look like a subtle gold shimmer on your lips. The 'Blush' part in Gold Blush won't show up at all. Berry Crush will be great on you...think Breathless with a golden shimmer. I think Maiden would be a good choice as it lacks some of the brown in Breathless. Bloom is a lighter pink, a Barbie pink. It will be a lighter toned pink than your natural lip color. Another one that might be good is Berry Nice. Berry nice is kind of between Breathelss and Fig Leaf in color.

Tip: if you add an asterisk at the end of such a keyword (e.g. enter berry* instead of berry), the search will stop ignoring it.

Or, you can try google: http://www.google.com/search?as_sitesea ... as_q=berry
