Hi Karen,
Do any of the current foundation formulas have an SPF rating or any plans for something similar to EDM's Natural Reflections that we could put into our mixes?
Thank you, ma'am!

Sunscreen is a very very tricky issue for a smaller company. They're regulated as a drug- and rightfully so. The problem that it poses for us is that because they're regulated as a drug we'd go from being classified as a cosmetics manufacturer to having to follow the same rules as a drug company. You can imagine there's a big difference between making lipstick, and heart medictaion and there are a lot lot lot more regulations involved. Not to mention the insurance, paperwork, FDA fees- and then the actual SPF testing itself which is 4-figures. I also don't want the responsibility of making a life or death type product. I take my job very seriously, but in the end I'm much happier making lip gloss.
With that said go read the description of sheer zinc powder.

The zinc powder is quite good and if you're looking for a lotion sunscreen, Aubrey Organics makes really nice products.
