Just another former edm member looking for eye shadow help
Hi everyone. I am another former edm forum member. Hope all the lovely silk naturals ladies aren't tired of us yet. I have ordered foundation samples in ivory and ebony since that seemed to be right for a match of edm cool fair medium.
I am interested in buying a couple of the eye shadow kits. Problem is they all look lovely. I was hoping for some recommendations. Besides being cool toned I have brown hair and hazel eyes. One of my favorite sn eye shadows is amalgam that was a gwp a little while back. Thanks for your help.

Hey Colleen! I love the Wink Wink Nudge Nudge combination. It's very pretty, neutral, and can be worn to work. Applied a bit more heavily, I also wear this combo for special occasions. That's definitely one eyeshadow duo I'd recommend.
I also love Boom, because it goes with pretty much anything. I just got Mink, and it's a beautiful crease color. Lurid is apparently similar, but not so similar you can't have both? However, I've heard Lurid is a bit cooler toned, so maybe Lurid would be a good crease color for you. I'm sorry I'm recommending all neutrals, but they really are my favorite, and that's a good thing, because that's really all I can get away with at work!
I don't have too many SN colors just yet, but I thought I'd start you off with some of my favorites

Colleen - woohoo!! Lovely to see you here. If there's anything I can do to help you, just ask. We'd never get tired of newbies - it's lovely seeing folks go through the "wow" moment and re-igniting that joyous excitement to treasure hunt their way through another new brand.
For eyeshadows, best thing would be to give some ideas of the types of colour you already know that you like and we can see if we can find new ones to match or compliment. *whispers* it's okay to name names from other brands like EDM

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely check those out. I am trying to get a few more nuetrals for work as well so those will be good for that. I am thinking some sn shadows would make a nice Christmas present for me.

Re: Just another former edm member looking for eye shadow help
Hi cupcake. Thanks for the warm welcome. My all time favorite edm shadow is cypress. Some others are take out, spin cycle, hot chocolate, pressed olive, jasmine tea, mystic night, starry eyed. So I like greys, browns, pinks, greens, purples and I have sn sapphire which is lovely so we must add blue. Makes it a bit hard to narrow things down.
I am just a makeup junkie.

Re: Just another former edm member looking for eye shadow help
Excellent! I had a feeling that Cypress was the answer
I've got to dash out for the evening but I'll have a think. Karen does that sage / cypress / olive / antique gold colour *really* well. Some recent GWPs have been from that colour family. An immediate near match that comes to mind is Mystic Night = aubergine (and dreamy is lovely with it). Jasmine Tea isn't a million miles away from MAC Kitchmas which has just been duped as Retro in the new products collection (no red sparkles). For Spin Cycle - my fave EDM colour - if you can wait until tomorrow for daylight here (UK) I'll swatch my SN peachy colours for options. No obvious matches but some lovely contenders (SN Whisper?).
Meanwhile, have a look here http://www.silknaturals.com/callouts/sh ... tches.html from some swatches of the older colours, and on Jen's swatch thread for this year's colour. The newest ones haven't been swatched by Jen yet but I think she's working on it.

I got my order today. Now I can start with the mixing. I ordered starry since I have been looking for a nice silver shadow. I got the gwp 9:59 it looks gorgeous. I can't wait to play with them tomorrow.

Hi Colleen,
You have gotten some great advice from others, and really they are the ones that know you from elsewhere.....As far as the kits, there are swatches of the quads on my swatch thread.....and yes, I am always behind on swatches in general because Karen keeps coming out with more lovely colors. Also, right now I am waiting on some new lighting equipment... I highly recommend the Smokey Plum Quad and the Summer Lovin Quad for coolish toned gals.....I also think you would like the colors in the Mixed Metals Palette.

Re: Just another former edm member looking for eye shadow help
Thanks Jen, knowing which ones would work well for cool tones is really helpful. They all look so pretty that it is hard to choose.
Re: Just another former edm member looking for eye shadow help
The kits work pretty much for everybody. I'm very cool-toned, too, but I love the shimmery party quad. If you can wear copper (and I try to talk everyone into at least trying copper), it's absolutely stunning.
For more everyday, the Stonewashed Nudes are safe for everything, and you can do them up fancy, too. Haven't tried the mixed metals yet, but they're on my list.
