Vegan formula questions

Post by EtherealJane » Sun Nov 08, 2009 10:55 am

Hello!

I love my SN foundation, but I found the medium coverage to be a bit drying as we head into the cooler months. I'm wondering if it's the silk? Does anyone know if the vegan formula is less drying?

I also would love to know how the coverage of the vegan formula compares to the medium coverage.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

If anything...the silk would make it less drying. I am guessing for you it might be the silica that dries you out. Coverage on the Vegan formula is between Original and Medium.

Thank you Jen. Can you think of anything to help combat the dryness? I love the ability to mix my own shade, and I really love the medium coverage. I'm just worried that as it begins to get colder here in NC, I'll get flakier and flakier

That is tough, because I am right there with you getting flakier....and sometimes it is not just my skin.. ;)

I also wonder if an Ivory blend of half Zinc Powder and half Heavy Coverage would help.......It would be a similar coverage to Medium, but have half the silica, and the soothing properties of the Zinc Oxide.

I do spend more time on my skincare in the cold weather. And I try to add heavier oils to my routine and switch from Rose Serum being my general hydrating serum to Oatmeal. For me, I think it might be time to give the Pore Refining Toner a go, and beg Karen for another Hydrating Toner/Mist.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only flakey one around here ;) I would never have thought to try half zinc half heavy coverage ivory, but that makes total sense. I've been itching to try the zinc powder anyway!

I usually use cameilla oil to moisturize, but you're right, it might be time to start breaking out some heavier ones. I've also got the Oatmeal serum in my cart, so hopefully that will help a bit too.

So far the flakies haven't been too bad, but I feel like my skin is in constant need of exfoliation. I do exfoliate gently every day in the shower with a washcloth, and then I use a 2% Lactic Acid gel almost every night. I'd love to be able to give my skin a bit of a break sometimes, but if feels like when I do, I just get flakey. Hopefully I'll find the magic combination somewhere!
