It was a completely unplanned happy accident but I've got a new furbaby! A 12 week old little girl kitten called Holly. She's mostly black with big white paws, a white bib and chin and some random white smudges on her tummy. Sparkly green eyes and a lot of mischievious but super-snuggly character.

I was out visiting last night, met a dog lover who has a new kitten - next thing I know, she mentioned a mutual friend in the next village who is desperate to rehome her last, spare kitten. I wandered down to where she works, asked generally, mentioned meeting the kitten - they came to visit this afternoon and within an hour of them leaving, Holly was happily asleep on my chest as if she belonged there. How rare is that for a kitten in a new house?! Not panicking, but snuggling a stranger. The lady said that she'd been handling the kittens since they were born, so they were used to people. It clearly shows. Holly is very intelligent and interested in everything (especially the neighbours bird feeding table on the little communal lawn) and is currently sleeping off her tuna dinner. She's already been litterbox trained and is comfortable doing the necessary outside. When she settles here, she'll be able to go in and out freely. Apparently, she's even hunting already at 12 weeks!

It is amazing how they just take to you and make themselves at home. I don't know what I would do without my Cookie Dough now.

Ah, Cupcake, your Holly sounds like a tuxedo cat with her coloring! Lucky you....that's what my furbabies were.

I will do, thanks Laurie and Jen. She wakes up at 5am and has a half hour of lovies, purring like an express train and rubbing her face on me while talking to me and looking me in the eye. Then a half hour of aerial gymnastics chasing a piece of ribbon. She runs away when I come into the room, but comes when called by her new name. I think that's amazing given that she's been in the house only 12 hours! She's a total Tuxedo kitty with a white bib and a white 'seam' down the middle where the black doesn't quite fit around her tummy, just like a posh waiter in a 'penguin suit' tuxedo. She has one wee rogue black smudge under her chin, a face full of whiskers, eyes full of nonsense and it's totally love already.

She is just too cute for words! I love the little 'pile' of kitty!

What a cutie! Sounds like love at first site, and I can see why! That little goatee is just adorable.
