iPhone 3GS killed the SN budget...

Post by pinkpomelo » Tue Jul 07, 2009 5:01 am

Looks like the hubby has put a hold on the SN budget for a while... the iPhone 3GS is finally launching in Singapore this Friday (10 July) and we're both getting one each. I'm both happy and yet sad... cuz I really love the new matt shades! And i've wanted the matt shades for so long... gagh...

Congrats on the fancy new phone :D - my friend has one and absolutely loves it.

I know exatly how you feel re other things taking financial priority at the moment - mine is less exciting than your lovely iphone though; a root canal treatment last week (£390) which will be finished off in a couple of weeks by a crown (approx. £490) so everything else will just have to wait

I have a friend who has one and she loves it too. I'd like to get one next round, but won't until Verizon is able to pick it up. At & T is not so good around here.

Oh no, sorry to hear about your dental work. I've never had root canal, knock on wood, but have had 3 crowns in the last 2 yrs. so I feel your pain there. Hope it all goes well for you :)

At least they are not LE’s so they should be around when the bank account is ready.

I'm sorry to hear about your tooth! Dental stuff is just so yucky- made worse by the terrible expense. I wish they'd realize that good teeth make healthy people and just cover everything- but that's apparently asking too much.

I'm coveting my brother's 3G- I'm near Ruby so I have to stay with Verizon, but his has an ap that tells you what to cool for dinner, where the nearest grocery store is, and what aisle everything is in. Just amazing- I still remember using a computer used cassette tapes for storage, and we were lucky to have it!

Dental work is expensive here too! Thankfully, my work covers some of it. I've heard of people who travel to Bangkok to get their dental work done. Apparently, even after factoring plane tickets, its still cheaper?!?!?!

I know the iPhone has an app that will group your To Do lists according to where you are... so as the phone's internal GPS pinpoints your location, your To Do list will adjust itself so you can do all the stuff that is in the vicinity... I wonder if it works outside of USA too?

Here in Singapore, being so small, coverage from any of the 3 telcos is good. Except, Apple has this penchant for "exclusive" dealerships. like At&T, here the exclusive dealer is "SingTel". I heard that Apple would not budge and the telco that won the dealership is the one who could promise to sell XX number of phones. So SingTel's on a real rampage to launch the iPhone 3GS. Sadly, being "exclusive" means that they are not so pressurized to lower the price.
