Questions for those of you using the oil control serum

Hi everyone,

I need some help - I bought samples of the oil control serum and have been using it for about 2 weeks. First question is do you use this before or after your moisturizer? I've tried it both ways and I am still shiny by around 10:30-11:00 a.m. from putting on makeup at 6:00 a.m. For reference, I am washing my face with an all natural clay soap bar, which the seller told me was good to use during the summer when your skin is oilier.

Second question is what moisturizer are you using? Maybe it's my moisturizer that is making me shiny. I am using a natural product from another company - I've tried oil-free moisturizers and ones that contain oil - and like I said, I'm still shiny by midmorning. Can anyone give me advice on what I should try?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Cin

Use maybe a toner for oily skin and a mattifying moisturizer. I don't have oily skin anymore so I am no expert.

I use the serum right after cleansing and toning, and let it dry before adding anything else on. I've been using Karen's raspberry moisturizer in the morning, with pretty good results so far.

I've also heard that mint can help inhibit oiliness, so maybe use mint sprits during the day? If your skin is dehydrated, it produces oil to compensate, so that could help. I usually just cook up a strong mint tea and use that in a spritzer bottle. Keep it in the fridge when you can, and use it up in a week.

As for your soap, maybe you want to cut back using it every other day, and try something milder? I use clay masks to pull out the oil, but if you do it too much, your skin can go into overdrive to compensate. Try the apricot oil cleanser and the foaming cleanser from Karen's line.

Loving that tip!

I found that my dehydration is successfully alleviated with the Green Tea and Aloe Serum. After a couple days of use, my excess oiliness had mostly gone. Keeping skin sufficiently hydrated will make a huge difference in getting the sebum balance right.

I do huh, hehe. It's a fun challenge, and I'm a borderline control freak :D

Glad I could help!
