A good friend of ours was laying carpet, and accidentally cut a really deep vertical cut down his wrist (perfectly straight too) with a box cutter, the psych at the hospital had a really hard time believing that wasn't deliberate, lol!

Back on topic, I'd love some kind of rosacea treatment...

I thought of something I absolutely need, cleanser cloths. I've heard lots of good things about the MAC ones, but no way am I spending that kind of money. Unscented or very lightly scented with rose or something "gentle' would be nice!

Prevens aren't bad, and you can get them at London Drug for like $3. They're not uber-natural (I doubt the MAC ones are, either), but they work well, and they do have some skin-helpful ingredients.

Hi!! I have a few requests, & I know some of them will only be adding my vote to already-posted requests. ;)

More vegan eyeshadows -- particularly I'd like to see Brown Sugar & Satin in a vegan formula, but vegan formulas of some of the other regular e/s would be great, too; maybe just taking silk out of the colors that don't contain carmine anyway would be an easy possibility (if it could be as simple as that -- I have no experience in eyeshadow formulation, so I leave that to the already clearly-proficient Karen)

Vegan lipstains -- I guess I missed these when they were around (I'm pretty new to SN), but I would love an effective, non-drying lipstain

Cake mascara -- haven't been able to try it yet, but I want to, & I'd love to be able to buy it from SN when I do

Pretty & 9:59 eyeshadows -- these are beautiful colors that I'd love to see available for purchase (hopefully in a vegan formula; not sure what was in the GWP versions, as the ingredients weren't listed)

That's all I can think of right now. Please, please, please... *crosses fingers & wishes very hard*

I'm fairly certain that all the new eyeshadows are going to be vegan, but you'll have to check with Karen or Jen. I actually prefer the silk formula, but the discrepancy is tiny.

If it's a serious concern to you, you might want to look at vegan makeup companies. NOT trying to chase you away by any means but that way you could be sure that there wasn't silk in anything - whereas at Silk Naturals - well - you can guess there's going to be just from the name.

Hope that didn't come off as rude, it wasn't meant that way.

Cake mascara - that's one of the things I happily left behind, along with wire hair rollers you had to leave in overnight and sanitary towels with belts. The good old days weren't always so great. Cake mascara is useable but it does take a while to get the hang of it and there's really no comparison between the cake stuff and wands.

The original mascara, invented by Mr Rimmel and first put out by Maybelline, was a mixture of ash and petroleum jelly. UGH. That was a little before my time!

All of the GWP shadows are vegan since we made the switch to vegan in the fall- so if you've ordered anything since about October or so they're all vegan. I'm pretty conservative with the GWP ingredients. We never use carmine, ferric ferrocyanide, dyes, or ultramarines in them (those are the 4 big classes of ingredients where you have to be a little bit careful about where you apply them)- so you can apply them anywhere and not worry about it. It's why you almost never see a blue GWP color because there aren't a lot of ways to make blue without ultramarines or ffc.

I'm working on/pondering the rest of the requests! It's a lot of fun...someday soon I'll be back to start asking some very specific questions where I need a little clarification.

This may have been asked already, so I apologize for being repetitive, but do the GWP colors ever become regular items for purchase?

Yes, sometimes they do. For example Vineyard was originally a GWP color: http://www.silknaturals.com/creb/produc ... cts_id=651
Foundation Mix: 3 x Buttery Gold : 2 x Yellow Booster : 0.5 x Green Booster : 57 x Original Ivory : 3 x Glow
Lips: Pure, Ambrosia, Reaction, Chemise, Flaunt, Cerise | Eyes: Grassroots Green, Goddess, Motive, Fuse

It didn't come off rude at all. Thanks for your reply. I haven't tried a formula with the silk in it, so I don't have any basis for comparison there, I just feel better not using it personally. I have tried a few vegan companies, but apparently haven't chosen wisely, because I haven't been overly impressed with them (with one possible exception, but the verdict isn't fully in on that yet), & have even had a few issues. I really like Silk Naturals as a company, & would like to spend my money here when I'm able, so I'd like to have more eyeshadows to pick from (since e/s is my weakness). I do really appreciate that they have separate vegan categories to make it easier to find those products.

Karen: Thanks for your reply. That's wonderful information to know about the GWP products. I didn't really find Silk Naturals until this past December, so I wasn't aware that you switched to vegan eyeshadow this past fall -- I just thought you made some that were vegan & some that weren't. Thanks for clarifying.

yes. Vineyard eyeshadow, Wonderful Cream Blush (and loverly when it was available), Peace kisser slicker, the orange cream sugar scrub was the very first GWP ever.
