Huh, I'm not sure if my PM went through or not (it's in my outbox but not sent messages folder.) So I'll post here to be sure!

About my skin: I've traditionally been *very* tough to match. I went to a real professional makeup artist to get matched, and she had trouble too; I have quite seriously yellow-based fairish skin on most of me, but I'm inclined to rosacea, so the skin on my face is MUCH more pink. I want to match my chest and neck!! I was mismatched to pink foundations for a long time, but my closest MAC matches have been NC30/C3. The BEST one for me is Bobbi Brown oil-free compact foundation in beige 3 (BB is quite yellow-based, so that's not as neutral/buff as it sounds.) In RCMA I am close to KO1 (but it's just slightly too pink). This is the foundation I'm wearing in both of these photos (sorry, I don't have any no-makeup ones on the computer. I could email you a crappy phone pic of no makeup though!)

I tan pretty well (and tan to a coppery color) but burn first. I have tons of moles and medium dirty-blonde hair. My veins are green rather than blue. I prefer silver jewelry to gold, but it's probably not more flattering. I can wear colors like bright yellowy lime-green, warm orangey-rust, etc; blue-toned reds look horrific on me. White is OK, as is off-white and ivory.

I'm guessing I"ll be buttery gold with maybe some green booster or a mix of olive in there to tone down the redness a little? I'll start with original, but I'm 40 and my skin texture is a bit rough, and I need pretty heavy red coverage in my T-zone; I'm not sure if this would be best accomplished with something like unblush or with a more intensive coverage level in the foundation itself.

I did get your pm, but I was out of town for the weekend and only had small bits of time to check in. The messages show up in our outbox until the recipient reads them.
I am pretty sure you will fall in Buttery Gold or Olive with some amount of Yellow and Green Boosters. I would start with Buttery Gold 1:6 or 7 White. Then we can adjust from there. For coverage level, Original is more forgiving on a match, but I think you will want Medium Coverage, or even our new All Purpose white base, especially if your skin is on the dry side.

Hi,

I think Olive or Buttery Gold for the color base, but I really think Olive will be the closest. Try Olive at 1 scoop Olive to 9 or 10 white, or Buttery Gold at 1 scoop Buttery Gold to 6 white. If you need more help, please ask!

Thanks so much! I wasn't meaning to imply that you should have answered in 10 minutes--I thought perhaps I had done something wrong since it wasn't in "sent."

I'll give it a shot and let you know! What's the difference in the new All Purpose and the Medium coverage? I am a little dry...

No problem... I often do get back in a much more timely manner! :) I must have been feeling a little guilty, or something. And I completely get now that it was more about the forum set up and being unfamiliar with it. Some days, I am still learning the ins and outs of this forum set up!

For the foundations, the main difference would be the silica in the Medium Coverage. Silica is great for blurring pores and giving an airbrushed finish, but it does have the potential to be more drying than other ingredients. I prefer the Medium or Original finish over the All Purpose, but my skin likes the All Purpose better in the drier months. You may have to try them both.

My perfect foundation match was the (now discontinued) Aromaleigh Glissade in 2L. I can wear Meow's Sleek Bengal, but it seems a little light, and Frisky Bengal is a little too dark. Any recommendations on a SN recipe? (I can take a pic if needed but I'll have to wait for some daylight.)
