I'm Indian (a MAC NC 43-44) and I would classify my skin as medium-dark. Would love lure perfecting powder be a good finishing powder for me? I'm scared that the original perfecting powder may look slightly gray/ashy on me.

Also, will any of the SN cream blushes suit my skintone?
Love Lure is the right perfecting powder for you.

As for the cream blushes....they are pigmented and do have buildable color to some degree. I think it is worth a try to sample one, but I don't think I would commit to a full size unless you liked the results.

Thank you :)

I'll definitely give love lure a shot. I'm uploading a picture of me taken in the sunlight without any makeup on (only eyeliner) - what foundation mix do you think would suit me? Also, seeing this picture, love lure won't be too light, will it?

Kirti-
Love Lure will definitely work.

Foundation gets a little trickier for deeper skintones, (as well as our super fair gals!). I would try Deep Ebony, Peach or Olive as they are our deepest bases. Olive looks to be your best bet at 1 scoop color to 3-5 white.

Thanks again :-) i'm so grateful for all your help! I'm really looking forward to ordering the perfect harmony kit now - still a bit freaked about getting it right though, i've never been great at DIY :-P

Here's a better and more recent picture of me - indoors (well kinda, because I was on a boat) and in sunlight. Do you think I may be 1:3-5 warm gold and ivory? I just never thought of myself as olive :?

Our Olive is not super green....I am an Olive (see my avatar pic) although fairer than you. Warm Gold has some good colors in it for you, but I think it will lack the depth. In Warm Gold you might be a 1:1, but you also mught be a Warm Gold straight. Our color bases are mostly pigments and the smoothing, coverage aspect for foundation is generally in the white portion. If Olive ends up not being warm enough, we can use some Peach to warm it up.

(For another quick reference...in Warm Gold I am 1:9...in Olive 1:14. Warm Gold and Buttery Gold are the lightest of our color bases.)

Okay so then I'm glad I'm getting the entire kit. I can mix up one olive batch and one warm gold batch to see which is a better match. :)

Are some people here using just the colour bases as foundations? (Since you said I may be a warm gold straight?)

No, but you could try it. It runs just a little more heavy than Original foundation, but it is pretty much just a blend of pigments and is completely matte. There is not much of anything in the color bases for helping with adhesion, or for smoothing, or for adding a slight deweyness to the skin.

Kirti,
i havé brown skin too, a few shades lighter though, and not as warm . I really think you must havé a gréât amount of peach in your skin, more than gold, and of course olive. Ebony is a cool, bluish Brown, olive is theclosestbrown.
