Thanks Jen, I'll give that one a go tomorrow.
While I was waiting I mixed up a 1:8 Olive and it looks pretty good. I've gotten a bit more red in my face since I took that picture, so it does well to cancel it out. I'll have to get natural light pics tomorrow, too.

Olive would be good, too.....you may need it a little lighter (add a little more white). It is best to judge the color after it has been on your skin for a bit. As the powder blends with the oils in your skin, it will darken slightly.

Here's a couple of pics with the 1:8 olive in indirect sunlight

They're gigantic so I'm not gonna insert them.
ETA: After leaving that sit for a while it was much too dark. So I tried 1:9 olive, much too dark again. So, I went ahead and did the 1:9 Warm Gold, it seemed a bit dark after leaving it sit for a while... so now I'm on to 1:10 warm gold.

ETA: 1:10 warm gold is still looking good, yay! I need to tone down my red a little more though.

I admit I kinda gave up on SN base a while ago because I just couldn't find a match in color. Now, I really want to try the gumball foundation, so I am placing an order for that!
My skin tone just is never actually captured on camera. When I photo outside my skin looks more yellow than it is. Inside way more pink. My swatch pics seem to be the closest (when I photograph my arms/hands). Here are pics with some random swatches on!
Again, these seem a little dark, but are the closest I've found to my skin tone. When I tried Buttery Gold, it was too yellow. Warm Gold, way too warm and orange. Ebony, too pink. Olive was...well, it didn't feel olive enough. The closest was a mix of Buttery Gold and Olive (more Olive than BG) but that still felt too yellow. I seek your expertise, Jen! IDK if I need some kind of color booster or what, but I am pale so I don't want to OD on it!
For reference, I have dark hair, not quite black but almost, wear about NC15 and in EDM I fluctuated between Fairly Light Neutral, Olive Fair, Sweet Almond, or Fawn. I never quite felt a perfect match, looking back now, in any of the EDM shades. Thanks so much!

Hi cait,
(Did you go to the new Adagio store over the weekend?)
I am wondering about Olive and Yellow booster. I am thinking the problem with Buttery Gold was that you did not have enough control over the amount of yellow in your mix without adding more brown. The only other thing you might possibly need is the green booster to add in more green if you feel it is off. Without seeing a face pic, I am not much help beyond that. (Do you feel comfortable pm-ing me one?)
I would try Olive at about 1:15 and add a scoop of yellow. Then go from there.

I have been trying so hard to get a good face pic, but they keep coming off really pink, and I know my skin's not pink. The only remotely close pics are taken with flash, and those come off a bit darker than I really am. I'll keep working on it and PM you one soon. Thanks
And no, I haven't gone yet. Trying to tell myself to finish what I have first before I go and buy up the whole store!
ETA: Here's a pic:
My neck is definitely the most yellow part of me. Face might be if it weren't so red. The rest of me looks more olive toned.

cait-
Could the redness in your facial skin be more of a reactivness? Anyway, looking at the pics, I still think the Olive with the boosters.

I just finished a round of Accutane, so I'm on some retinoids and some are acne spots that are taking a while to clear. I'll definitely get those boosters and experiment, thanks!

Ok, I'm embarrassed to post this but need some advice on base color. I'm pale but if I go too light I look totally washed out. I also have a very "rough" texture to my skin. If any has product suggestions for that too would appreciate. OK here goes bare skin and all!

Can I know my tone?
