Hi All,

This is a different type of help request. I've received my sample kit, and I think I've found the foundation shade I need. My question is this: What can I do with all the other shades in the kit? I can't use them, and don't want to throw them out. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

randonneur wrote:Thanks for the suggestions. I've never tried a SN blush because I've had some bad reactions to foods with red dyes (and only the red ones) so I figure I should try not to put them on my face - especially in foundation which I primarily use to cover the type blotchy redness that I get from eating red candy. I'll try to use up my foundation samples mixing them with rejects from other companies. I'll just buy new samples if you ever come out with a (dye-free) pink booster.
I see your problem.... The only ways to get matte pink are dyes, carmine, or utramarines. If you were not concerned with shimmer in the pink range we have Be Mine, Apple, Foxxy, and Desert Mauve(this one is matte, but kind of brown) don't have dyes or carmine. Babydoll has carmine, but no dyes.

Another thing I have used to pink up foundaiton is Date Bait, but it is subtle.

Some put them up for swap...or just send them to someone who can use them.

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me out, I'm terrible at this. I can't even identify what undertones I have.

I was matched as an NC20 and here are two photos for reference. If it helps any, I'm Mediterranean.

I think Olive at about 1:12.... (1 scoop Olive to about 12 white)

You don't have strong green or yellow for an olive tone, but not strong pink, either. You are mostly neutral.

I'm very fair, without any particularly strong undertones in my skin, and generally wear EDM's Fair Neutral. Suggestions?

Welcome to the forum! You have gorgeous eyes. I'd say try about 12 parts ivory to 1 part ebony. You may be a bit lighter than that, but it's a good place to start.

I just ordered a starter kit, and I was wondering what a good "recipe" for me would be =)? Foundations quite often look too red on me, even if I buy the most yellow one available, very difficult to find a perfect fit.

I get pretty tan in summer but I live in Kiruna, Sweden (way above the polar circle) so I fade quickly during winter. I do have a naturally more tan color than most swedes though (my eyebrows are naturally black).
Here are some pics:

Most recent, this is the haircolor I have now... disregard the naked bf and the drunk eyes. Hehe.

Some more piclinks, dunno if FB-links work but...

You will probably be Buttery Gold or Olive....... In Buttery Gold I would try 1 scoop color to about 5 white....in Olive I would try 1 scoop color to about 9 white. Once you get a match...it can be easily lightened with a few more scoops of white as your tan fades. Let us know how it goes... :D

I really wish I could post a photo of myself but i haven't really figured it out yet. I need help with adjusting my concoction. In the medium coverage, I have come up with 1 buttery and 1 warm to 6 white. Something about the color is a little off. My face appears a bit chalky and kind of tinted with a dirty brown color. I am asian so I believe I do have yellow undertones. I am wondering if I should use less warm gold? Buttery gold by itself looks too yellow and I am a medium beige colored. I have also noticed that the foundation has nice coverage but my skin looks really lumpy and dry in some areas with my pores being more defined. I have tried the perfecting powder in Love lure but my skin still looks dry and lumpy around the nose and cheeks. Any skin care products or additional tips would be nice.
