It made my day...
Re: It made my day...
What an awesome idea!!
Today my critters made me smile. I have a parrot & 6 kitties, & they never cease to warm my heart. I know 6 cats is way too many for the size of our house, but 4 were rescues, & I'm truly thankful for each & every one of them every day -- couldn't imagine life without them.

It made my day......
* to read abt this thread.
* to read the posts already in this thread. You've brought some big smiles to my face as I've read through them.
* have my mom & dad drive up to Kansas City to attend the funeral for my husband's grandmother this week.
* to have my oldest survive his first 'sleepover' at a friend's house on Friday.
* to have one on one game time with my youngest Friday evening.
* to have a grown-ups only dinner last night with another couple.
* to see the snow melting & some green & brown grass peeking through!
* to see the outpouring of support for the people in Haiti. It renews my spirit to see that people are able to care about others that they won't ever meet. It's easy to take forgranted the warm roof, food & running water that most, if not all of us experience daily.
* to use the SN products that I already own.
* to work on the next SN order I want to place.
Thanks Karen, for doing this!

I found a great blog about mineral makeup, ordered NYX eye shadows and nail stamping image plates (fauxnads with animals - a lion, a sheep, butterflies and flowers).
Passed two important exams - not today, on Friday, but I'm still happy.

This made my day. Walking the dogs in the woods was fun, and taught myself how to play "I'll Fly Away" on the guitar!

These breakfast cookies make my day!
Breakfast Cookies
¾ cup ground flaxseed
¾ cup 50/50 buttery spread (such as Smart Balance) or butter
¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup raw evaporated cane sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 ¼ cups spelt flour
¾ cup whole-wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup oat bran
3 individual (single-serving) packages instant maple oatmeal
1 12-ounce bag chocolate chips
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In an electric mixer, cream flaxseed, butter, brown sugar and raw evaporated cane sugar. Add vanilla and eggs; beat well.
3. In a separate bowl, stir together the flours, baking soda, salt, oat bran and instant oatmeal. Slowly mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Stir in chips. Chill until firm.
4. Scoop tablespoon-size balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, allowing room for cookies to spread. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on wire rack.
Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.

I hope I'm in time for this!
It made my day that my family are safe and sound today. We never know what tomorrow brings so I'm just grateful for today.

I hope I was able to post in time, I feel so bad for those in Haiti. It makes me so grateful that me and my family have what we have and can do something to help these people. My heart goes out to them.

Things that made my day:
- to know that my family is safe and sound
- to have a loving husband and wonderful marriage
- to be grateful that I'm still alive
