Just in your description I would try Olive first. I think it will be in the 1 scoop color to 12-14 white.nicollback wrote:Hi ladies,
I'm looking to start creating my own foundation, but I am at a bit of a loss of where to start. I don't feel like I fit into any of the categories!
I am NC20 in MAC (however this is a bit too yellow), with EM I was Fairly Light Neutral and Frisky Siamese in Meow. I was using medium coverage foundations!
I have rosacea which I cover up with a green concealer so I am not looking for anything which is pink!
I'd describe my skin as quite neutral - equal amounts of all colours (but maybe less pink!).
I'm definately not straight one colour - although I can get away with foundations more on a yellow side rather than another colour. If that makes sense?
Maybe Ebony with some Warm Gold and a bit of a green boost? No idea.
Looking forwards to hearing your ideas!!!Let me know if you'd like to see a picture
Thanks in advance!
I agree that all the base samples are a good idea for overseas. It is possible to adjust your foundation with differing base colors if one is not quite right. Warm gold might work, too, if you get it light enough. The reason I initially stayed away from suggesting Warm Gold is that it is kind of strong in the yellow and peach department....it might be close, though. In Warm Gold try about a 1:8 or 9 ratio.nicollback wrote:Olive?? How amazing. I wouldn't have thought Olive at all but I suppose it makes some sense!!
I am wearing EM's Buff Fairly Light Neutral in the top and Revlon Colourstay in Buff in the bottom one.
Just wanted to make sure - as I am hoping to get all samples ordered in one go, as I am from Australia
I am super excited to do a sample order!
I would try Warm Gold at about 1:8.....or Olive at about 1:12makeupmaniac wrote:Hi !
I just received my kit and tried my first foundation. No luck
I have green eyes, and a light complexion with some pink patches on the cheeks. dark brown hair.
in every day minerals i wear light neutral. but its not the exact match either. its a tad too yellow
I tried 1 scoop of ebony to 6 scoops ivory. i found the end result to be a bit dark and pinkish on my neck.
can you offer some advice?
thanks
deedee
I would start with Buttery Gold 1:7. It has some yellow and some olive tones in it. If it is too yellow, you will need Olive in about a 1:10 plus maybe a little yellow booster.alfie1969 wrote:Hi Jen, I'm new to SN and have a sample kit, green and yellow boost on the way. What recipe do you recommend I try first? I'm olive with yellow undertones and wear EDM golden medium in winter and Olive medium in summer. EDM winged butter is too yellow, buttered peach too peach, olive neutral too neutral. I'm MAC NC35 and the new BE Golden medium is OK (not quite green enough). Here's a piccie - not natural light - when I'm a bit tanned. Many thanks for any suggestions.alfie
