i feel like i'm getting less sick today, but still pretty miserable. I made myself some super spicy cabbage soup and i've been drinking hot water with raw honey and lime juice too. I'm attacking with heat, hydration, and honey- and mucinex to help cough up that crap. I know you're not really supposed to take immuno-suppressing drugs (anti-cough/cogestiong meds-not mucinex, it aids the process) but I have been taking nyquil at night because i decided the need for sleep far outweighs the cons of immuno suppressants. I do occassionally add a little liquor. I don't care what anyone says, i truly believe that shot of 120proof going down my esophagus is killing germs. I'm not getting drunk- just one shot of liquid sanitation down the throat. Sometimes I make a hot toddy- adding rum to my honey and hot water. On a side note, i recently came to the conclusion that nyquil is sambucca laced with immuno-suppressants/cough syrup.

I have been this kind of sick before and it eventually progressed to coughing fits that left me on the floor and bruised ribs that took weeks to heal after i was better. My family was worried i might have pneumonia and i finally went to a doctor who told me it was a virus and they run their course in 3 weeks (i had already been sick for 4). I figure i'll give this one til the 3 week mark (the 23rd) and if it's not gone by then, to the doctor i go. i really hate going to the doctor- not only do they normally not make me feel better and cost me money, but i recently realized that the true reason i dislike them is that it's their job to invade my personal space- it's not their fault, but that is their job, and i don't enjoy it.

I am a really big baby about being sick- the "I'm dying" "It's the plague" kind of baby. I haven't been sick in a really long time so i'm probably worse about it. My 3 day weekend starts wednesday so i can veg in bed if i want. eta: DH is better so that's promising...

I feel your pain, Sam. I've had bronchitis for 2 weeks and I still am not feeling great, and the crap I am coughing up should be used as toxic waste!
Just be glad it's just you and your DH....when you have kids, nobody really cares if you are sick; you are still supposed to take care of everybody else.

If you can't hide it, paint it red! Still sick but recovering- at least i don't sound like a cartoon anymore.

The lipstick is a red lipstain topped with bombshell topped with swank. The cheeks are contoured with tahiti sweetie. The eyes are gold and you can't see them anyway so i won't bother listing colors used.

Oh wow, that lip color is incredible! You look like you're ready for a night of tango! :D

Glad you're starting to recover! I loathe doctors too after years of bad experiences, so I totally get not rushing to see one unless you absolutely have to. A shot of rum in hot tea with lemon and honey has knocked out several colds over the years! I'm convinced alcohol is the secret behind Nyquil's powers! :P

I really like this look, I love red lippies ( just not on me) I can't find one that I like when I put it on. It may be that the lippie is fine but the color is such a shock to me that I just don't like them on, who knows? This will make everyone laugh, when I was little my grandmother bought me a pair of patent leather red maryjanes to wear with a navy blue sailor dress. I put the shoes on , and proceed to start crying, because I swore my feet were bleeding. I think my mom and dad got me to wear the shoes once just to please my grandma. Prehaps that is where I develped my adversion to red on me.

Sam, I know that you have told your foundation recipe before, but do you mind repeating it one more time, other than it is a mixture of olive and has a little bit of Lavendar in it, I can't remember it or figure out which thread I read it in. My skintone is similiar and my orginal hair color would have been a preety good match for yours, now it has quite a bit of gray in it. Thanks, Hollis

I had it in my signature for awhile and at some point removed it. I haven't been wearing fdt most days(in this photo i'm wearing Dreamworld peanut butter creme finisher), andthe one that matches me most consistently is a mix of just about everything-i think i was trying to mix a peach just to see how it would do and it didn't work so i tweaked and it ended up with peach(too pink/orange), ebony(to cool/dull), olive(closest but a tad yellow), warm(too orange), buttery(too yellow) and lavender.

I do have trouble with SN foundation mixing since i'm basically neutral with a hint of gold and a hint of olive, and my skintone changes drastically with the seasons/how much sun i'm getting. Most of the bases will go orange-ish on me. Since I don't often have the patience for sitting and mixing bits of all the bases together, the ones that match pretty well are usually somwhere around 1 Olive/.5 Lavender/8 Ivory sometimes with a pinch of warm gold or ebony thrown in to neutralize it or warm it depending on the time of year. I'm sorry it's not perfect math. In Meow I fall in around Korat and in Dreamworld, Hecate was created for me. HTH

Sounds like my foundation mixing adventures! I tried mixing up warm gold and peach just to try them and oy was that awful! I had to scrub the orangeness off of my face and arm. :P

Tizzylou- I know your question was directed at Sam, and I don't know if we're the same skintone or not, but I do know that my natural haircolor is pretty close to Sam's and I have the same "everything turns orange" problem she does. My current foundation blend is something like:

1/4 scoop olive
1/4 scoop ebony
1/4 scoop buttery gold
1 scoop glow base
6 scoops medium ivory
(and I think maybe some Lavender, sometimes I forget what I tweak later!)

My finishing powder is more complex since I had a ton of samples on hand that I wanted to use up. It's base is oil control blur, perfecting powder, and zinc with Tempt Tryst, Crystal, Unblush, and some Lavender color corrector thrown in just to see what it would do. Now that I look at it, I guess it has the same yellow, pink, green, lavender thing going on as my foundation! Huh, craziness...

Thanks both Sam and Superwahz, I don't have the everythinbg turns orange problem on me, but haven't quite tweaked it to where it doesn't look dull ( for lack of a better word). My best matches are a 1-12 of buttery gold, but it still slightly yellow, or strangely enough a 1:3 ( what a jump ) of olive. At least those to mixes look like they belong on my face. :).
My grandmother once told me that I wore her mustard gold couch really well, not that helps in matching foundation, but it didn't make me look yellow when it was up against it!
