Hi Laurie,
I do like the Wink Wink - I've used it quite a bit since I got it.
Now I just ordered again so I could get Elle. LOL, it sounds like something I will really like. Oh well, I wanted Microdermabrasion cream, orange cream body scrub, and the glow foundation sample anyway (justifying...) Oh, and I ordered Precious too. And I ordered fp samples again so I could figure out what I want to use atm.
Good thing for the coupon from the contest.

except now after this order I will have enough points for the $5 discount from that.
LOL
Karmen

Haha.. finally found the courage to mix my own foundation..
I tried
(A) 1 BG + 6 Ivory = too yellow
(B) 1 WG + 6 ivory = too brown/dead
(C) 1 ebony + 6 ivory = too red/dark, doesnt look right.
So I mixed (A)+(B)+1/2 of (C), added a few scoops of ivory to lighten it.
So now it stands at 1 BG + 1WG + 0.5ebony + 19 ivory (original). May need to use less ivory as the weather warms.

I am new, so this is my first post lol,
i just left edm (i was cool-fair) wasnt liking the staying power or coverage, breakouts also from them
i got my sample kit in the mail today and it was so easy to find my match!
basically i used one scoop of ebony and the whole bag of ivory mix, and it was a perfect match, too easy!
i think i am going to re order the full size in medium coverage though so i can get a bit of extra coverage, the original formula is a bit too sheer, but other than that its simply amazing.

I mixed again today and got it all right this time.
I wear 6 ivory and 1 olive, and it is an almost dead-on-match to my skin I think.

i have had great luck with the yellow color corrector!
my recipe is 16 scoops glow foundation (original would probably be about the same), 6 scoops yellow color corrector, and 2-3 scoops peach (depending on how tan i am).
i have yellow-peachy skin; in other brands my matches are a mixture of golden-light and warm-medium beige in EDM, Frisky-Naughty Chartreux in Meow, and Kindness 3.5 in adorned with Grace. buttery gold or warm gold were ok matches but looked slightly grey and flat on my face.

I was so excited at how easy it was to get a match! I'm wearing 11:2 original ivory to WG.
Other brands that have been a good match color-wise:
Meow Naughty Korat
Mac NC25/30 (depending on season)

Ok, so i asked about my foundation shade some time ago. Since I am going to place an order again soon, I 'd like to ask for some advice on a foundation recipe suitable for me. I did not provide a picture the last time and so I am attaching one now. Its a crappy cell phone pic but the colour is pretty similar to what it is in real life. I have been matched by a MAC sa as NC 15.. I used a mix of ebony and peach base + a tiny bit of warm gold for my mix and I think its still a little dark for me. I have no idea how many scoops of each colour I used as i am a really impatient person and i mixed the who packet of base with bits of this and that colour and lots of stiring.

I am wearing the SN foundation I mixed in this pic.

I am really guessing that you would be about a 1 scoop Ebony:1 scoop Warm Gold:12Ivory based on your MAC match. I really can't tell much from your pic except that you are pretty cute! Cell phone pics usually don't have enough resolution to give much information for color matching. Ideally, a decent resolution pic in daylight with no makeup is best. When that situation is not possible, we work with what we have available. Peach base probably would have made it too red for you.

all right, I really think I need to start over with foundation. I've made so many little mixes, with a little of this, and a little of that, and I have just made it more difficult than it needs to be. If I was new and didn't know anything about it, and said I was a medium beige, what would you tell me to mix? I think I will start there. I think that is my problem - I have a true "beige" skin tone and therefore it has a mixture of a little pink, a little yellow, a little peach, a little olive - so everything I try looks "okay".
