Thank you! He's coming along wonderfully & adapting well. I believe you'll never find a better animal than if you let the animal pick *you*. The reason for the name change to Silky is because his coat is amazing! I've had both long-haired & short-haired cats in my day but have never run across a cat with both short-hair/long silky ones all mixed together,LOL! It's very strange! He looks like he has yorkie in him, ROFL! His tail has long silky fur, he has tufts of long fur inside his ears ~ he's very different looking!

Still taking things slowly. He *finally* jumped on my lap this morning (on his way to the windowsill,LOL) so that's a start....I've become part of the furniture to him. Michael keeps inviting him into the house (leaving the sunporch door ajar) but he's not ready yet. Slow & easy.

You gals have been a fabulous support system! Really appreciate all the advice & stories!

Mikie, How are things going with Silky now? Is he adapting to the new environment, eating well and gaining weight?

I think you are soooo right about animals picking *you* for success stories. I had a stray cat have 2 kittens in my back yard 4 years ago, I scared her and she left from her bed she had made but kept coming back to my back door for food and water. I adopted her. I love her to death, she is my 'baby'.

She is a wonderful pet but a little skittish at times (not sure how long she was on the street for), and she was about 2 years old at the time.

They *do* pick you, they really do! Silky is *wonderful* & coming along. The fact that Abie (older brother,hehe) took him under his wing is helping. They play together ~ huge relief!!!

We have an ancient HUGE wooden wine press (well, grape press,lol) in our living room ~ I use the spokes on the top as a coat rack & the huge wooden barrel just holds "stuff"...*you-know-who* was in the barrel hiding when I came home tonite.
