I try to wear as many colors as possible, but I have issues with some blues and purples too. Also, some pinks that make me look like I have pinkeye. But I have no eyebrows to speak of (have to draw them on) so when I wear a smoky eye it works, as long as it doesn't involve heavy eyeliner. I just have odd coloring. Blue can look great (like Poly) or look like I'm bruised, haven't slept in weeks, or make my eyes look muddy colored (they usually shift between gray, green, and blue). Same with purple. Orange brings out the blues, I try to wear it more and more...and copper!
I put magnets on my jars and put them on giant magnetic boards too, otherwise I'd lose too many! Grouped together by color. They're sitting in my office right now which is off the living room and when people come over and happen to see them they look at me like I have some sort of illness! I just tell them my collection is very small compared to certain others!

I've been loving these BTW Xarata! So thank you for that little push to buy them... Wore them today with Sizzle, it looked like sunrise on my eyelids.
I'm trying to do my meditation room in colors of the sunrise, in a effort to actually get up in the morning at dawn and use it. So, the eye shadows are inspiring me!

I've discovered recently that I can actually wear everything, it just depends on what I wear it with, like I can't wear some pinks (like madison for example) on their own, but if I pair them with a green or blue then they look good. I can't wear blue as a wash, but if I wear it with peach, orange or pink then it works etc. I think if you balance them right almost any colour is wearable.
Having said that, it is easier just to do a wash of one colour that looks great all on its own, which is what I'm doing at the moment, as it is feeling like too much effort to look through my bags and bags of eyeshadows to find coordinating colours!

I think you're right Lily... I've gotten several SN shadows that I thought totally wouldn't work, and they don't by themselves, but paired with a color that works really well for me, sometimes it balances them enough to be wearable! Well, wearable and actually look good.

I need to go back and try some of the colors I've set aside with a few of the newer, more colorful shades...might find a new favorite combination!
Light colored eyes can be such a challenge with eye shadows sometimes! My sister never has this problem, but with black hair and dark brown eyes, colors on her go on like paint on a blank canvas... Sure, there are some that she likes more than others, but I've never seen one actually look "bad". It's fascinating...

I found Go to be more of a green/teal (as opposed to a blue/teal like 5th avenue)

*The sun was super bright so the upper close-up of the eyes open was taken indoors. I just couldn't look directly at the camera with the sun right in my face.

*I am not wearing best friend in the peach and teal photo montage above.
