discipline just doesn't fit in the luggage I'm taking

Never fits in mine either! I took two bags this time, and darn if I couldn't squeeze it in...
I agree with the diet stuff- I tend to avoid most diet stuff in everything but drinks. I can jam, and use that in yogurt- it's yummy, and has a lot less sugar.

Oh my golly that sounds amazing... do you just mix it all together?? I've been really good the last couple of weeks but not sure how much I weighed before or now :S but I do now my tum's not so sticky out now hehe

the problem comes at weekends I usually go to my boyfriends or to a friends and we go out for drinks then end up having all kinds of scrummy foods...

You have all inspired me and I am finally slowly getting my act together. For the last week I have been on a new diet plan. I decided it was time to see a dietician as I have tried about everything out there and I have some food allergies to deal with. I was very surprised at how off my ideas were having tried so many different kinds of diets. Anyway, I am sticking with this one for a while and we will see where it takes me. I have lost 3 lbs this week and I feel much better. I think I am on the diabetic diet (ADA), even though I am not diabetic at this point. Slowly, I will be working in the water and structured exercise.
Thank you all for sharing in this thread....it gives me hope that I am not a lost cause.

Jen:
After DH had his bypass and had to start following his diabetic diet, modified slightly to make it even more heart healthy was when both he and I lost weight. Since I have been doing for 8 1/2 months I have actually gotten to where I like lowfat cheese, and really don't miss lots of fried or greasy foods. When we were at the State Fair last weekend, DH commented about the fact that he had always looked forward to "fair food" but the smell of the grease was so evident to him that he didn't want it. Are we 100% compliant, no way but we are probably 85% compliant.
Most dieticans will put clients on a ADA diet for weight loss , as it is one of the healthiest diets and once you learn the exchange list is also one of the easiest to follow. It is what Weight Watchers orginally based their diet on, and is a easy way to learn good habits for a lifetime.
My favirute breakfast treat is a smoothie made with Vanilla Almond milk , ice , a banana and fresh peaches or strawberries. I will have to start using frozen fruit soon as the local produce will be gone, but it should still taste pretty much the same.

Hi all
I've been quite lately because I was on my HOLIDAY YIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. My parents have a caravan at Burnham on sea and I was there for a week with mum, sis and auntie.
I'll be getting weighed tomorrow so I don't know how good or bad I've been

.
I was fairly good on holiday worst than I'd thought be, but not crazy bad. I did do 35-40 min in the onsite gym at the holiday park. We walked everywhere and was out for good 5-7 hours everyday. Did treat myself to 1 ice-cream, 1 cornish pastie, chocolate bar, 1 dessert (knickerbocker glory - took a pic will post soon teehee. Porn for dieters

) and 1 sausage roll. No chippies, or anything fried and when I had a pizza, I had small one and said no to cheese. I've also been exercising at home the last couple of days so I'm hoping that makes a difference.
hey Sarah: You could mashed it up but I prefer the layered effect. yummy
jen: Wow you go for it I know you can. Dieting vibes coming your way.

Well done on losing 3lbs, two thumbs up.
Tizzylou: I know what you mean, I can't stand greasy or fried foods now. I've been having these health crisps (chips) from a shop in england for the last 9 months now and I love them. Tried one of my mums walkers crisps a while ago and I spat it back out, I could taste the oil, yuck!! Glad you and your DH can say "no we don't what that" just because of the smell of greasy food, it's a great achievement - congrats. And no 100% compliant is not possible, 85% sounds right to me. I have a huge sweet tooth.

Well done and keep up the good work.
wish me luck for tomorrow

Ghost...even if the numbers don't quite work out to what you expect, you know how to get back on course. Good for you that you enjoyed your holiday without going overboard. I totally think you did the right thing there! If you are not at least the same, I will be surprised. You were very active on your holiday. It is all about relearning how to still enjoy life, and being healthy doing it. I agree that 85% is a great goal.
I am now down 6lbs, (with a very long way to go). Baby steps. I have my second meeting with my dietician tomorrow. I have been unable to get too much exercise due to a twisted knee. If I could slow down long enough to give it a chance to heal, I would! And I already notice the reduced cravings for the greasy stuff....and the super sweet stuff, too.

Ghost: No matter what the numbers say tomorrow, the fact that you limited your treats and did some exercise while on vacaction gets a big plus in my book.
Jen: Congrats on the 3 additional pounds, I haven't been good about exercising either as I fell at work and bruised the heck out of my knee, so I have a 2 hour walking , no prolonged standing, no kneeling, crawling, or squating restrictions, and that makes it rather difficult to work and exercise! I use up my walking and sometime my prolonged standing restriction before I ever come home, I have been cheeting an boxing on the Wii however, since it works my arms and provides me with some cardio at the sametime.
And, I imagine 85% compliant is probably as compliant as I will ever get.
