Sometimes experimentation is the best way to go. I am not sure where the pink is coming from in your WG/Olive mix, but if it is not right, trying something else might help. There is not much in the way of pink in Warm Gold...it is more of a yellow/peach. Actually the Buttery might eliminate the peach which is probably what the problem is. I also wonder if an Olive/Yellow Booster mix would work better.

One thing to remember....most people are not exactly the same skintone year round. I am in my wash out stage...meaning my summer color has faded, and I definitely go more neutral......in summer I warm up.

Hi JenW thanks! Ya, not sure where the pink is coming from either, but unless it is the peachy. I was actually surprised when I saw it! :) unless I am seeing things but I could only really see it when I compared it too my neck this morning. I don't think it was an in your face differnece though....
this is why I defeintialy am recomending that the newbies get the full sample kit, one thing that works for one person mightn't work for antoher.

I will experiment around with the BG and see if that makes any difference for me.
I'll PM you a pic and you can see if I am completely going mad!! :)

thanks for the help.

Thanks so much JenW!
I can't wait to start mixing.
I just checked out the lip colors - they look gorgeous!

I was EDM Buff Perfect, that was the best match but it wasn't 100%.
So I ordered the sample kit, and upon seeing other recs, I used WG in a ration of about 1:8. I did a similar batch with Olive and that also looked completely fine, but it seemed a little off, although I cannot pinpoint why, there was just something not right.
So now I did a mix of WG with Olive. The depth is fine, but the colour looks a bit too pink...is this even possible with my mix?
I know the WG has a bit of all the colours, but I am so surprised that I am finding the mix too pinky.
I'm actually having the opposite problem. I can't seem to get mine pink enough, even an Ebony mix isn't quite right; it's more straight up brown than pinkish for me. Should I pick up a Peach?

Pink may be one area we need to look at......the only way I can think of to add pink is add a matte pink bush or Date Bait..... but I will talk to Karen about it.

I was wondering about Date Bait, so I will grab that and some more ivory to play mad scientist with. Thanks for the suggestions, Jen. :)

Edit: what's Crystal Perfecting Glow?

You really do need a pink colour corrector/booster. I know I'm cool toned and only ever get a match from the cool families at other MMU companies. I only bought the Ebony colour base because I couldn't imagine anything else would work but it somehow manages to look both orange/brown and grey/ashy at the same time on me. I'll probably be able to use it somehow by mixing it with other samples that don't work but it would have been nice to actually test your foundation formula.

Pink Booster is in the works. As soon as we saw a need for it, Karen started working on it.

I got (the very sweet and generous) Wendy's package today, and I think the Buttery Gold really gives it that little something I was missing. I have on a big swatch of it right now, "brewing" to make sure it settles at the right darkness. I went with 2 Perfecting Powder/0.5 Buttery Gold/1 Ebony/9 Ivory

*Changed it, mix was too dark. Hope this one works out.

YAY :) I'm excited for this.
