Hi all
it's that lovely day again for me and ......................... uh oh I've gained 2lbs. Yes I had my pizza and I did have extra goodies over the bank holiday weekend, but I don't think it was enough to gain 2lb. Well I'll just have to be extra good this week.
Corrine our instructor gave a sheet last week to write down what we eat each day. I need to eat more fruit, mix up my breakfast (I have the same everyday. I know not good to ahve the same) and I have to add fish............... urgh I hate fish but I can eat cod or haddock.
wish me luck all

See, that's the spirit, you already know you're doing good in general, and having some pizza can't hold you back for long
Good luck with the fish! As for fruit, you could just add it smoothies, you can eat a lot like that! Just keep out the non-so-fruity stuff

2lbs can be from anything! A few cups of tea could be 2lbs!?
Have you tried halibut? It's a lovely white fish and not too fishy you can get steaks they bake beautifully! If you're making a curry or something monk fish is pretty good. And prawns are super easy to throw in a stir fry too, or shrimp in rice? Fish is lovely if you get it from the right place. Okay now I need to go find some fish!!
Fruit's yummy in salads, things like grapes, apples and pears (lemon juice stops stuff from going brown). Strawberries, banana with fresh lemon juice and a little sprinkle of sugar makes a scrummy summery desert!

Hi all
I got weighed today and
"ding, dong, the pounds are gone". I've lost 5lbs yipppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. This is quite suprising because I ahve not been good at all. Couple slices of cake, not calulating my food caleries properly, a few (sort of) tukish delights, etc, etc. But I did discover that instead of having my 200 allowance for my breakfast, I've been having close to 400 - 500 kcals instead. I was using my portion pots from rosemary conley and the portion I was using was for special K, well I thought
"that will be alright for fruit and fibre"................. um NO. So for the last 6 days I've had wheatabix and raisin for brekkie. BTW I'm celerating this success by having a low fat sausage buttie and a packet of salt & vinegar mini rivitas YUM

Thanks Egerandi. I didn't do the fish like was supposed to but I did do better with the fruit - so one yay for me

Thanks Sarah. yes those 2lb was drink not pizza. I never thought to use fish in a curry, that might make it not taste so 'fishy' lol
I got one of Rosemary conley cook book and I found this yummy chocolate and cherry torte cake. I'm going to try and cook it soon and if I like it, I'll post the receipe on the forum. It looks scrummy in the book

Yahoooo!!!!!!! That's great to hear. We have salmon in packets like tuna and I mix them with a bit of mashed potato, egg white, and onions to make salmon patties. It's a Nigella Lawson recipe, and they're pretty yummy.

Hehe yes! I remember years ago we had to to tell a friends son everything was chicken or he wouldn't go near it. Minted chicken chops were his favourite

I started Weight Watchers on April 5th and I've lost 15 lbs so far. One of my coworkers is a big WW success story- she weighed over 200 lbs and wore a size 22 and she now wears a size 4. She stays on WW for maintenance and has made it a lifestyle. She's a big help to me in terms of encouragement. One of the things I like the most about WW is the fact it is designed for chunky girls who like to eat, and the points system is really easy to follow.

cajun seasoning does wonders for fish (i too dislike fish). I also love Old Bay seasoning, but am not sure if they would sell that in the UK? It's a yellow can with a red lid, blue writing, and a red crab in the corner. It's designed for seafood, but it's good on everything- eggs, fish, any meat really, salad, cream cheese...
I also feel the need to forewarn that while tilapia tastes mild- it's supposed to be the only fish that's not good for you (low in good omega 3s high in bad omega 6s). Some fish that aren't so "fishy": halibut, pike, walleye, mahimahi.
Good luck Sarah! It's so inspiring how you keep with it!

Well...I'm not on a diet, but I've decided to post here anyway. About 10 weeks ago, I made the decision to embark on "The Xarata Project", a challenge to myself to be creative and make something new at least once a week. So I'll tell you a little about myself.
I've always been book smart. I had a lot of things I was good at in high school- writing, design, debate, foreign language, certain sciences (animals, rocks, DNA), math, sports, and I feel very strongly for animals. I was suzie high school- student council president, president of the interclub council, varsity tennis, art club, a community volunteer (soup kitchens, fundraisers that needed hands like voting booths and artsfest) and anything else i had time for. I was in very good shape, and about 2 inches too short for modeling. So I asked myself "What could I do every day for the rest of my life and not be bored with it?" The answer was art. I have a bachelors degree in fashion design with a minor in art specializing in metals (i took the entire sequence of small metals classes) I was a couple business classes short of a spanish minor.
I am a waitress... and i think around the time I graduated, I realized that I didn't want to go to a big city and slap another designer's name on my work, that I could be quite happy with a little contemporary shop selling the medieval inspired clothing i like to make alongside my unique style of jewelry, art work, and other things i make with a corner of the shop dedicated to all natural makeup and skincare reselling my favorite products (wholesale soaps, argan oil, that sort of thing). Then again, I also could probably be happy decorating cakes...
Somewhere in all the bills and all the times i've moved since college, i realized that the only way i will ever stop being a waitress is if i start making things again. And the thing is...making stuff isn't always easy. Being creative sounds easy enough, but sometimes you run out of ideas...or have too many...or don't have the right supplies to do what you want to do...or the right tools- which shouldn't stop you, but then you have to come up with other creative ways to accomplish what you used to do with equipment worth thousands upon thousands of dollars and now you have to accomplish by running over a piece with your car...
So I make stuff. Every week I make something new- it doesn't matter what medium as long as i make something. Then I blog about it. While I've realized that it doesn't really matter if anyone reads my blog- the blog itself holds me accountable- it's kind of nice when i see that people do. If you get bored while you're perusing the makeup forums, i'd love the support of you lovely ladies.
