Well said Cupcake!

Celebrities have big heads? Gah, I must be destine for fame then, I can't even wear women's hats...though my dad's berets always fit just right, turns out our heads are almost the same size! :P

Feyith, you are a beautiful woman!! I'm so sorry kids were so cruel growing up. My DH is Chinese and grew up being called "piggy" because of having a flat face and pushed in nose. But oh, how I love that face... I grew up being called "Rocky Mountain Face" because of acne and "chipmunk cheeks" because my cheeks are so high and round that when I smile, my eyes totally disappear! I have almond shaped eyes, a wide round face, and high cheekbones so when I wear anything with a hood everyone jokes that I look like an eskimo. I just tell them to laugh it up, in 20 years those cheekbones will still be giving my face structure and character, and I'll appreciate the roundness then! Plus, I'm proud to wear features that remind me of my Native American heritage. ;)

Hoyden is right, I make myself talk nice in the mirror every day. Especially on the days I'm PMSing and obsessing about things to the point of madness. Give yourself the love, care, and acceptance you'd give your best friend...most of us are good at accepting others and really bad at accepting ourselves.

There was some study about that about 10 years ago. (Why, why are people "studying" these things). I don't recall the details, but turns out famous people really do have big heads.
That's so funny. Maybe my big head means I will become famous then.

Thank you, Andrea and everyone for the kind words and support. I really needed that today.

Hugs, Phyrra. Is that a new picture? I love your hair!
Yes, new hair :)
Thanks!

Isn't coming to this forum just like flopping down on a huge fluffy down pillow? It doesn't matter which way you land, since you know however you land it will just feel WONDERFUL!

Never any bumps or bruises here!

I just wanted to add a "well said" for Cupcake's words. Thank you--needed to hear that myself this week! :D

Emma-- as everyone else has said here, you are gorgeous! Yes, you have unique features, but they are YOURS!! I remember the pictures of you with the sword--wow! Don't let anyone tell you any different. Period.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a blue-eyed blonde. Charlie's Angel's was on, so maybe that had something to do with it! My hair and eyes were/are super dark, and I was darker skinned as a kid (tanned easily). Oh, also, my mom is a blue-eyed blonde--I wondered why I didn't get THOSE genes! Finally, when I got older, I appreciated being different from the "ideal beauty." Now, I have grey hairs coming, and I won't color them. I like them, and I earned them!! Plus, they are shiny and sparkle in the sunlight--why would I mess with that?!

I can see why you would want to take full advantage of a photo shoot and get the best possible pics, but you also want them to showcase what makes you YOU--that is what will get you jobs, I bet, NOT looking like everyone else! ;)

Absolutely!! I love this forum! I also needed to hear what was said in this thread! Thanks to all who contributed!

Emma - you are gorgeously 'you' - no one else can be you except you! I can't tell you how many times I've looked at a pic of you & been blown away - think any pic of you w/sword! Or some of the pics with your honey! How much he adores you shines through in pictures of the two of you together!

Yeah, I'm actually a little bummed; the shoot went really well and the pictures look pretty cool but the person in them has a tan and no freckles. That's not me. :(

I hate that for you! :( At least you can look at it as an experience. Also, if you model and act, it's good to show that you are capable of different looks, so think of those photos as one of your many personas for your portfolio! ;) You are a versatile woman, capable of many looks . . . a sexy chameleon!! :D How's that?!

That's a great way of looking at it! :D

Edit: Does this seem super pink to anyone else?

It looks really odd to me (maybe because I'm not used to seeing myself that color) but hubby says it's fine. :?

I don't see any pink--you look beautiful! You look "glowy"--in a good way. :D
