Try a sample kit with all the base colors. It really is the best place to start for anyone as long as your skintone is not super pink. Swarthy does not really give me much to go on except that Deep Ebony might be an option, too.

Hi,
I need some help to find my perfect color match foundation.
I color my hair with henna so I have warm orange tone in my hair. I have green eyes. I have some rosacea on my cheeks.
I don’t know if the medium coverage formula will be enough to cover my rosacea or it will be better to use green concealer.
My pictures are without any makeup.
Also, I would be interested in your suggestions for finishing powders (I have combination skin with ).
Many thanks for your help.

henna,
I would try Warm Gold. I can't be sure it will be perfect, so I still recommend a sample kit. Olive might work, and you may even decide that a yellower foundation is the way to go. For yhour skin depth, Warm Gold will run about 1 scoop color to 8 white, for Olive about 1:12, for Buttery Gold about 1:7. I do think Warm Gold is the place to start.
I would also try a sample of Equalizer for the rosacea.

Hi there! I'm currently sitting with the all purpose sample kit and a sample of glow in my cart and I'm wondering if I need anything else to get started. I'm overwhelmed with the thought of mixing my own color and I've read that photos don't always help much. I've been using BM, but their lightest color (Fair) is too pink, and although Fairly Light and Golden Fair are better color matches for me they are too dark. Can you suggest a starting point and if I should get anything else with my initial order to get started?
Thanks!

Do you have color base samples in there, too?
Just for my quick gut feeling of where to start, Warm Gold or Buttery Gold. 1WG:about 8-10 white, 1BG: about 7-9 white. It is possible that Olive will work, though, so really I would not skip the color base pack.

Thank you Jen!
I do have the kit with the base color samples in it! Thanks for the starting point. So you don't think starting with any color boosters is necessary? I have always had an impossible time finding foundation that matches (in any form - liquid, mineral or stick) so I guess I'm assuming that I'm going to have to go all mad scientist with eight different colors to match myself.

Most people don't need the color boosters. I think you should try without them unless you are very yellow or very green, or even very pink....

I've loved the skin care line of SN so far, but have refrained from purchasing foundation because I was intimidated at the thought of mixing my own colors!
Today I'm jumping in head first with the Intro Sample Kit, but would love some guidance on mixing before I ruin my samples.

Thanks in advance! (And not to worry, I included the Cucumber Peptide Eye Cream in my order!)

I would start with Warm Gold. Probably 1 scoop color to about 9 white.
( Psst....As for the eyes, it would not have been something I would have noticed if you did not mention it. I hope the Eye Cream helps you feel better about how they look as well as hydrating that area which will do lots, and then the actives will help with aging.......more than gracefully.
