And, here I am, begging for a matte neutral grey/tan a la Buff :) Please and thank you.

Oooh vivid mattes! Nice... Especially when it seems that the new colors this season are vivid colors. Yellows. Purples. Nice.

Same here!!!! I have started noticing that my lids aren't quite as smooth as they once were and this is definitely made much more obvious by more shimmery shades, even with a primer underneath.....makes me look, um, a bit trashy somehow. I still looooove beautiful pearly shadows as a subtle highlight on my browbone but I think that for the 'older lady' (he he, I'm only 35  so maybe I should say for ladies over 20!!!!!) something slightly more subtle would perhaps be more flattering on occassion.

I agree with Cupcake - flat out mattes can be a bit dusty & sometimes hard to blend, but I'm sure with Karen's formulations that won't be a problem.

Colour-wise, I am feeling summery so plenty of pastel or paler mattes for me please!!! Oooh and a nice deep slate grey (I've got a wedding to go to soon and it would be lovely with my dress).

Txx

You know - something with about the same amount of sheen as Pixie, but a little more sheer would be just about perfect. I have a hard time wearing flat mattes too unless they're very very light. But Pixie's almost perfect in the matte-to-sheen ratio, though if it was a little more sheer, it'd be perfect (yes, I still wear it a lot anyway!). And Boom is seriously under-rated as a highlight colour.

Other than that, really whispy eye shadow brushes are my salvation. I can wear a lot of the metallics like Bare and Plush okay, but there's something about the regular shimmery shades that does make them difficult for us auld farts unless you're using a really really whispy brush and a very light hand. I do, but it's nice to have a few go-tos for a simple two-colour eye, too.

I like Boom a lot, too!

I like matte shades as well. No sparkly fallover on the cheeks!
