Our girls(furbabies) are far *too cool* to be tempted by the Christmas tree...it's my 6 year old son I need to keep away from it. I think he thinks he's Tarzan. Anyway, I don't usually get it together enough to get the tree up till about a week before the big day.(anyways, I can get a better deal on the tree then!)
I am proud of myself that I have about 2/3 of my shopping dione. Typically I am still shopping 3 days before the 25th. It's the wrapping that I hate! Thank goodness for gift bags!
(except last year, I boo-boo-ed and *forgot* to remove the tag from the gift bag it originally came from. Caused a couple of mix-ups! LOL)

17 Days til christmas!!!
I got most of my shopping done, finished decorating the inside of the house, (still working on the outside though

), and in the process of signing and mailing greeting cards. I bought these photo cards from Wal Mart that you can slide a picture in front, so I printed out a recent family photo and put those in there. But I ran out of photos so I gotta print out more. As for food, I still haven't given a thought of what we're going to have for our Christmas dinner. It'll probably be just our little family so I don't have to plan anything too big and fancy. My hubby and I weren't going to exchange presents but just get the kids' presents, but I'm still debating on whether I want to get him a little something. Nothing expensive, maybe like a cologne or something.

As for my present I was going to make an order with SN.

I'm going mad with work... have to wrap as much as I can and get ahead as much as I can so that I can safely get over the Xmas-New Year weeks.
Then there's the Christmas drama for church I'm overseeing.
And then there's my own person murder mystery party that i'm hosting for Xmas.
Going into a tizzy tizzzy tiiiizzzzzyyy!

It's those "labors of love" that strike me the most, Laurie! When the bug hits to do something creative & unusual, it *needs* to be expressed & indulged. That's a pearl of wisdom from an older gal, hehe...*me*! I've been known to get a spark of inspiration & to take 1/2 day of vacation time & head right off to indulge just such a whim. One thing leads to another & it's relaxing & great fun. Change of pace, change of scenery=recharged batteries!
Still *no* tree brought downstairs from the attic, & I may just leave it in the attic this year, lol. Silky is *definitely* inclined to TRY to climb & truly thinks he can fly. The extra toes do tend to make him a tad clumsy, poor baby, & he does *slide down* things unexpectedly. The tree doesn't matter; the spirit's alive in this house year-round. I do have a tree in my department at work, & it has mostly handmade ornaments on it. *We* like it & enjoy it, & one of my employees has made a number of decorations that we sprinkle throughout our whole area.
Decided not to send cards this year, & we have no kids so do not do the gift thing. I sound Scroogey,LOL, but there's a serious reason behind it. Many, many years ago, I came to the decision to deliberately *avoid* gift-giving on what society (read:*commercials*) dictates as appropriate. I tend to surprise people with "just because" gifts when they least expect it & because I was thinking of them. Zero pressure! More fun for me & more fun for a recipient when a dull day suddenly brightens.

OK, enough of my rambling,LOLOL!
