How interesting this is to read! Now, I am older by far than most of you (maybe all, LOLOL!) & I have sun damage to cover from years of a baby-oil-&-iodine routine that Glamour mag touted back in the late 60s. I was a freckled kid, to boot. That said, my damage is primarily along jawline so that's where I start. I do a light dusting *dry* along jawline with a flat-top synthetic buki. (Tickled that Karen's carrying them now!) I sprinkle more foundation in my swirly dish, load my brush & then spritz the brush several times. Yes, I do a damp application ~ wonderful on experienced skin. I again start at jawline & do the perimeter of my face. Then I respritz the brush (without reloading) & quickly go over areas I already did, & I work my way in, nose last. It's really fast ~ & never a "dry" look or a powdery one. Then I do my brows, add my blush & finisher(s) & lippie. I quickly blowdry my hair, & then on to the FUN STUFF....my eyes, ROFL!

Lauren, agree! MMU, especially SN, is so much easier to put on. Like Mikie, I tend to prime with lotion for more even and lasting coverage. Then, I just swirl my MMU on with a brush and run out the door, compared to blend, blend, blend and all that stress on my skin of the cream foundations.

I start with my chin and cheeks because I am most concerned about coverage there, and I spend the most time doing that part of my face. I wear my hair over my forehead, so just a few quick swirls of foundation does it for that, and my nose and eyes are less problematic so I just smooth some undereye concealer on there with a soft kabuki-style brush. I use a circular motion and blend upwards, not so much inward or outward, but just up. I also do my neck and clavicles with perfecting powder if they are exposed...after all, I'm not as young as I used to be.

Hey, speaking of which, though, extra virgin coconut oil is awesome for firming the skin. I recommend it as a nighttime body lotion.

Oh yeah - the swirly bowl helps a TON. Anything with a nice round bottom will work well. And for e/s, I use the lids of the jars as a sort of mini-swirly bowl, which makes things faster, too.

And here is my tip for being fast. Skip eyeliner and mascara, and spend more time with the e/s itself, or with your foundation/blush/concealer routine. Better payoff for amount of time spent, IMO.

How fun to hear about your different techniques! This is what I do: After moisturizing, I put on a dusting of perfecting powder on my nose and chin (to prevent shine). (I use the lid of a big Chanel powder jar lid as my swirly bowl!) I sprinkle about 1/2-1 scoop of foundation in the lid, swirl it into my (round top) kabuki and tap, then buff lightly on a section of my face. I probably have to do this about 4 times for a full face. Then I dust a bit of perfecting powder on top, and add a bit of bronzer or blush on the apples of my cheeks. Then I put on some lipgloss (for some reason I always have to put on something to moisturize my lips at this point, LOL), and start on my eyes. Primer, color on the lid, a lighter color up to my brow, a third in the crease, liner, mascara and brows. I'd estimate it all takes 15 minutes. That's all I have time for in the morning!

~*mikie*~ , interesting to hear that you do wet application! Do you spritz with water? How much do you load the brush with? I have to try this!

Easier to find with your modification, Jen! :D

Yes, Kat, I use the damp method. I've done it with plain old water before just fine. I've also tried fancy-dancy spritzers, *but* I prefer something else & it doesn't even pretend to be all-natural. Good old water works fine. How much foundation I use? Hmmmm...in my swirly dish the spot is probably the size of a nickel...& flat, not a pile. So maybe a scoop or 2?
