WooHoo!! That's great! Welcome to the forum!!! It's about a 2 year shelf life on everything- although I have some of the first bit of silk I *ever* ordered here- it will be 2 years old in November, and it still looks good. Time will tell, but my supplier says 2 years- I have silk blouses much older than that though.
I've been using Jen's tip about using 90% rubbing alcohol on synthetic brushes- that's my new favorite. Natural hair needs a little extra TLC, but the alcohol has been working very well on the synthetics. I love it because it's cheap and dries quickly!
WOW! I’m in love!

Rubbing alcohol? Clue me in, please. How? Just dip?
All my brushes get washed with African black soap, the same thing I defluff with.

Re: WOW! I’m in love!
I forgot about the 90% alcohol! I usually put it on a paper towel or a microfiber cloth. It does clean and disinfect very well. It should work well for any of the synthetic brushes. Another thing that would work well is a disposable makeup removing wipes. I think you can get them at drugstores and the big chain discount stores. My first choice is the microfiber cloth, though. I bought 12 in the automotive section of a Target for about $5 on sale. Less waste.

Re: WOW! I’m in love!
I dip them, and then rub them on the microfiber cloth to get rid of the gunk and redip if necessary. Even the big ones are dry overnight! Between colors I just use the microfiber cloth.
I started doing it after I had a brush fall apart in my hands (it was a "tester" from another company)- the water softened the glue, and it just fell apart. I'm glad I don't stock those brushes...but they're all glued together somehow, so now I just use the alcohol. The pro brush cleaner we had been using was just alcohol and a few conditioners- synthetics don't need conditioners, and just the regular alcohol has been working very well.
