What kind of girl are you?
Re: What kind of girl are you?
Eyeliner is definitely my thing, but mostly I just variate that in shape/finish (winged or soft or smokey...) so when it comes to colour, it's blush. I like to 'match' my blush to what I'm wearing. Not in a matchy matchy way, but I don't like to wear a cooler shade on my face if I'm wearing warm colours and vice versa, or I'll wear a darker blush if I'm wearing neutrals, for contrast. And if I'm wearing something really simple, I'll wear something brighter on my face. And if, and if, and if... so many variables, haha! This reads a bit more neurotic than it really is, I promise

Re: What kind of girl are you?
I'm ddefinately an eyeshadow girl, with a lippie addiction. However until I started with SN I owned 1 blush, and 2 pressed eyeshadow pallettes. Well lets not talk about how many eyeshadows I own, or have gifted out of my stash over the last 2 years, but I know that my current collection is over 80 and lippies number around 20. Most importantly I am a "girly" girl, if it is makeup related, I'm interested.

You know, every single one of those blushes are ones I like very much- except for Tart Light. I have a sample of Tart that's been hanging around in my makeup drawer since I was a primer tester for you nearly three years ago. Honestly, I'm so yellow that I'm scared of it- I am BG w/yellow booster. I probably shouldn't be because I know it's pigmented and all.....after all, Satisfied looks scary orange in the jar, too. I remember going for an overnight and taking Jamie, Cocoaberry, Flirt, and Foxxy with me three years ago...just for an OVERNIGHT.karen wrote:That's too funny!!! Thank you for the chuckle this morningWe know that lippies are what really turn Karen's crank.Yes, they turn my crank, float my boat, and blow my skirt up. There's usually about 20 of them in my purse at any given time. I like them for the same reason Cupcake does- you can switch them out, and really transform your look a few times a day. I am rather a shameless ho for everything though...when we travel, even if it's just a weekend away, I cannot leave without Flirt, Tart Light, Carnal, Stellar, Baby Doll, Maybe Baby, and Climax- yes, 7 blushes, ya know, "just in case"- in case of what, I don't know, but I have to have them with me or I feel naked somehow.
This thread is going to be fun!!!!! I'm glad the GWP program got you to play with color- we've had a lot of makeup timid people come out of their shells with some of the sparkles, and it's really fun to watch people transform from "just show me the matte neutrals" to something a bit more daring.
Oh and I live to make people laugh! Glad to be of service.

I'm also in the group of rarely wore eyeshadow before, and if I did, I stuck with mostly really neutral tones...until I got a sample of Bon Voyage and realized I could actually wear colors
Thanks, Karen!

Re: What kind of girl are you?
As a girl who started with two drugstore quads, one blush and a couple of lippies almost three years ago, I can now honestly declare I'm an SN-kinda girl.
It started with my usual self: the first orders were practical, goes with everything, do-i-really-need-this, and without noticing I started ordering everything I found remotely attractive or justifiable
I got to the point when some girls I knew who came to our party at home exclaimed 'why do you need so much makeup' I answered: who's talking about *need*?
I have lotsa blushes, but tend to use about 4-5 of them and the rest are the 'just in case'. I can actually match them to my skin now and to the tone of my clothing/lippie (I totally get you, Zus!) I have tons of eye shadows, and now trying to organize them, so I can stop using the same ones that are on top. Unfortunately though, even when I spend a lot of time applying, because of how my lids sit, not much comes through, so it's really just for my own entertainment.
All that said, I'm definitely an SN lippies girl. I have all that I know would look good on me, and try to give them the time of day, even if just for home wearing. After a few tries, I stopped ordering brown or overly warm ones, but other than that, give me a bright pink or red or purple and I'm a happy camper
Like Cupcake said, you're in control and no need to redo face if I change my mind in the middle of getting ready or need a new color for the night out. I used to think I i have thin lips that shouldn't be emphasized with dark colors, but they either got fuller or I just stopped caring, hehe.
Btw, royalgoddessbeth, I use yellow booster as well, and one of my fav blushes, that I even purchased full-size is Tart Light (not Tart)
Give it a try, a light layer perks my face up and goes very well with berry lippies like Seedy or Infatuation or even Hibiscus/Shrieking Violet combo. I'll send you a sample if you want

I'm an everything kinda girl. lol. Of everything I have, i'm probably a shadows girl the most, but really i'm everything kinda girl. lol In general i only go natural though- i owned one pressed powder compact and a pressed white eyeshadow in highschool. In college i had a mary kay custom compact that i barely wore.egerandi wrote:As a girl who started with two drugstore quads, one blush and a couple of lippies almost three years ago, I can now honestly declare I'm an SN-kinda girl.

I don't do the magnet board like I know some of our mavens do, but I have two small five drawer organizers. I have cool tones in one and warm tones in the other, then blushes in the top drawer, and eyeshadows by color group in the four underneath.egerandi wrote:I have tons of eye shadows, and now trying to organize them,

As for the Tart, I might tone it down with a little zinc powder and give it a try and wear it with one of my cooler lippies. I don't think even Stellar is pink enough for Dame, but that's just me.
