I love my hair! Thank you, Karen and Karen's mom!
Re: I love my hair! Thank you, Karen and Karen's mom!
thanks emma and tizzylou!
i ended up getting some via a friend on the chanty forum who bought it and it didn't work for her because of build-up issues, but she has thick hair and mine is quite fine and i am really liking this. it does make my hair incredibly fluffy and it is easy to use. it takes me less time to use this then hair one and i don't have to use quite as much, and the smell is much nicer.

Just checking in to say this is still working like a champ on my usually stupid hair. I don't have the fluffy crown Emma sports (jeaulous!), but makes my hair nice too, and now I can go two and sometimes three extra days without looking dirty or schlampy or smelly. Brushing with a boar brush before bedtime then using some dry shampoo the next say works great, and sometimes I just straighten the end of my ponytail, as needed. The last days are not fluffy, but as long as I can look clean and pulled together for work enough in less time, I'm game

The first day did not go well for me. My hair looks dirty and greasy. It felt like I rinsed it all out. I think I am going to wait for the weekend to try again. Right now I just can't wait for tomorrow to use some shampoo.

Oooh that's no fun. It can take a week or so to get used to it...in the mean time, using a gentle shampoo isn't going to hurt. Just use the conditioner as a regular conditioner, or even a leave-in. Do you have hard water at your house?? A lot of the success of a shampoo has to do with the water. Ours is super hard, but we have a shower filter, and I don't get buildup, but the second the filter needs changing I can feel an extreme difference in my hair. I loooooove my shower filter.

I don't have very hard water. I don't know maybe I used too much or didn't rinse as well as I thought. I will definitely try again this weekend.
Re: I love my hair! Thank you, Karen and Karen's mom!
colleen i just wanted to tell you how i used this that worked well for me. i use the directions for wen/hair one. i do use some product in my hair daily, so...
-- first i rinse for 60 seconds. i actually count to sixty as i do it, otherwise i'd probably stop at like 30 seconds thinking i'd done it for a minute.
--then i take a teaspoon and put in on the top of my head and massage it into the hair on the top and around my hairline for about 30 seconds. i do the same with another teaspoon on the crown of my head and then another teaspoon underneath my hair at the nape of my neck.
--then, i stick my head under the shower for a half second to add a little water, then massage the heck out of all my hair again. the water added at this point actually makes the cleansing conditioner lather a fair bit.
--i leave this all in for another 2-3 minutes as i finish my other shower activities,
--then i rinse for another 60 seconds at least, counting again. sometimes 90 seconds.
i have fine, pretty short hair (just below chin length--it is shorter now than in my avatar). for people with thicker or longer hair i would think that you would probably have to rinse longer (before and after using the product) and use more conditioner, and massage for longer as well.
right now i am using it 2/3 days and then a medicated shampoo the other day as i have some scalp issues, but am hoping to be able to go to daily soon. there is no way i can just use water on my hair, it just gets too greasy.

Re: I love my hair! Thank you, Karen and Karen's mom!
I actually have used Hair One, Wen , Sauve Conditioner and now the Cleansing Conditioner with good results. But when I first started I also had the "greasy" hair problem. I started having the best results when I made myself watch the WEN video's and try washing the WEN way. Since that day I have had consistently good results no matter what product I use.
When friends ask me about conditioner washing, I do tell them to expect an adjustment period, to watch the WEN video's since they do a really good job of explaining the whole process ( even if you don't comb the product through in the shower), and to rinse and then when you think you have rinsed the product all the way out rinse some more.

Thanks ladies. I really do think I didn't rinse enough since at the end of the day one side seemed worse. I will definitely watch the wen video and try again on Saturday. I really would like it to work since I do think it would be better for my hair and help keep the color longer. My hair is kind of thick and about to the middle of my back for length.
Re: I love my hair! Thank you, Karen and Karen's mom!
Thank you everyone for the nice comments to us. Karen came over last weekend to use my hair again for a "science experiment". This time it was the making waves. My hair is fine and straight. When I was about 10, a babysitter curled my hair with bobby pins, the style of the day. When she took all those pins out, my hair was straight, not even a little wave. Just my very straight, chin length bob with bangs.
So when Karen spritz my hair applied the gel, scrunched, and let it dry, I didn't have much hope. But it worked!!!! I had waves, and the next morning I still had waves.
Not only did I have waves, it left my hair soft and, well, poofy for me. (meaning it wasn't stuck flat to my head.) I can go several days without washing my hair. I'm so glad she offered it to you before I had to bug her to list it.
Karen's right, it's not gummy or sticky, just nice.
I can't wait to see how the rest of you like this new product.

Re: I love my hair! Thank you, Karen and Karen's mom!
Colleen- I use a natural shampoo (on medium length/below shoulders length hair- varying thicknesses but a lot of it) and SN cleansing conditioner as a regular conditioner. My hair may just be too thick for the cleansing conditioner, but I also just don't like using that high of an amount of product when i usually use about a tsp of shampoo and half a tsp of conditioner. The cleansing conditioner is still the best conditioner I have ever used. I used to need a detangler, and now i don't, and my hair has never been so soft. If it doesn't work for you as a cleansing conditioner, definitely give it a go as a regular conditioner. Good Luck!
