Happy Birthday, Jen. Hope you had a very special day.

It has been a whirlwind...... I turned 40. My daughter and I went to get our ears pierced (mine was a double) together. There had been mention of a tattoo, and I contemplated that I might for my 50th. But then I thought, "Why wait?"

My nickname in the neighborhood (and one that my husband gave me) is Sugar. I am also a Chemistry nerd. So I put the two together and got the molecular formula of sucrose on my wrist...... Thanks for the nudge, Laurie and Karen! Plus it was very cool to be making wrinkle cream and tattoo balm on the same day!

Cute! I think I should get tattooed with that, as I am such a sugar addict. Happy belated birthday Jen, you deserve an awesome day because you are awesome!

Wow, that is an awesome tattoo!! Personal tats inspired by your life have so much more meaning IMO than picking something randomly out of a book. My sister has several tattoos, each one has a deep story behind it. I kind of love that you can read her life on her skin... You're a brave woman, wrist tattoos hurt more than most other areas!

And I love that you thought "Why wait?" and decided to seize the day! We all should do that a lot more in our lives...

A belated happy birthday, Jen! And welcome to your 40's! I have found it to be the best decade, yet. (And I am now closer to 50 than I am to 40.)

What a great tattoo! I have been considering getting one for a few years (a small ladybug on the back of my shoulder), but I am a total wuss when it comes to pain, so I haven't found the courage to do it, yet.

I have to admit, it did hurt a little. And there were a few spots where it was grind your teeth painful, but it was quick. I do think I would do it again, though, if I came up with another perfect design idea for me. It is healing nicely and the balm really helps.

Just for the record, when I was 39 years and 364 days old, I had never even remotely considered that I would get a tattoo. I do not regret it one bit! My kids are still a little in shock, and most people I know consider me the last person they would expect to get one. (Translation: Jen is kinda square!)
