Also sending good vibes (and a wish to come back as your dog, lol).
I have a kitty and 12 chooks I love dearly, my kitty has cost me thousands in vets bills but she is worth it! Furbabies are great (although, not as great as the actual variety  )
Hope that Kanani and you have lots more happy years together!

I'm sending lots of good vibes your way, and I think I'll join in on that wish to come back as your dog. Actually even coming back as my dog wouldn't be to bad!!

I could hardly read this without getting teary. My dog passed away just after Christmas. He was 14.5 years old and had glaucoma and lymphoma. He lived several months beyond the diagnosis of Lymphoma, and 1.5 years beyond the diagnosis of glaucoma. I gave him eyedrops 3 times a day for the 1.5 years, and steroid pills every day after we found out he had lymphoma. I would have done more for him if I could, but it was all that could be done. (besides chemo, and at his age it just wasn't feasible to consider putting him through that.)
He had a great life though - well cared for and very loved by many people - but we all still miss him every day.
So yes, I too am one who understands pet love.
Sending hugs and good thoughts to you and your dog. I hope everything comes out well with a good prognosis.

Oh Krenee, I'm so sorry for the loss of your furbaby. :( *hugs* A friend of mine lost her lab to an ugly battle with stomach cancer last autumn and so reading about Kanani was really painful for her too. No matter how much work they are, it's so worth it for that happy, unconditional love they shower us with. People who have never experienced that are IMO missing out on a grand experience in life. Lots of hugs and healing energy to you too, I'm sure your dog was so happy to have an owner who loved them so deeply and cared for them so well.

Ugh! So sorry to hear that. They've made a lot of advances on Canine Cancer in the last few years.

One of the dog forums I am on has TONS of info about dog cancer. I'd post a direct link, but I'm not able to manage cut & paste right now.

There are several vets and many owners who've been through the cancer treatments with their pets. www.pitbulltalk.com.

Thanks superwahz - I wasn't trying to take over your thread or issue with my own story, sorry.
I do hope for the best for your dog's prognosis. I am sorry to hear about your friend's dog too. Luckily my dog didn't seem to be in pain and passed away peacefully at home. He hated the vet - absolutely detested it - so I will be forever thankful and grateful that his last moments were spent at home and not at the vet's office.

Thanks so much for that link Hoyden! They sound like a really supportive group and you're right, their Cancer subforum is full of info. She's not a pitbull though so I don't know if I should register or not...but just reading the threads has given me an awful lot of feedback without actually posting a thing! I found a link there to the Tripawds website where in one of the blogs several pet owners were talking about a well known holistic vet in our area that we've been trying to decide whether to see or not. Their recommendations and the results they've had with treatments advised by him are really great, and helped me decide his fees are worth the cost... Help with that decision is priceless to us, so heaps of thanks to you!

I don't feel like you're trying to take over this thread with the story of your dog at all Krenee! I appreciate you sharing about him and sending well wishes to my pup, so don't feel bad at all! I'm so glad he passed away at home where he was happy, all my previous pets have too and I hope never to have to change that...though I will if need be. I think we all deserve to go in a comfortable place surrounded by those who love us. *warm hugs*
