Olive? Not sure, want to order a kit

Post by jettrue » Tue Jul 21, 2009 6:09 pm

Hi,

I generally consider myself an olive skin tone, but I could be wrong. I see yellow when i look at myself, but I'm probably pretty neutral with some olive/yellow. I have brown hair, brown eyes, freckles, mostly fair skin, but I tan OK, I just don't spend much time in the sun. My grandmother is half cuban, and my dad (though not related to the cuban grandmother) is super dark. My sisters inherited a very dark olive complexion (and yes I'm jealous). My one sister has to get pretty darn yellow foundation.

My bare escentuals foundation i "think" i use medium beige. Its in my car right now, I'll post again if I'm wrong. I think it's fairly close, but I'd like something with a little more coverage. So medium, I think?

What kit should I start with, do you think?

Olive! I don't see much in the way of yellow or golden. I would start atabout a 1 sccop color to 10 sccops Ivory in medium coverage.....I am thinking it might need a few more Ivory.

Thanks!

I guess I always think of "olive" as having some yellow in it naturally. With paint I imagine that you'd add yellow to turn green to olive. But I guess the question is how yellow is yellow? On the scale of yellow, I guess I'm low, LOL.

Now I'm rambling.

I'll definitely order the olive kit, thanks for the advice.
