I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for party themes? We had a toga party last night which was hillarious, and can't wait to start planning the next one. The toga theme was brilliant because it's a cheap and easy costume to make and everyone looks as silly as the next person!
Here's a pic of me and my housemates last night all toga-ed up!

Re: Parties!
Once, the BF and I got stuck listening to an infomercial about rock ballads and soft 70s and 80s rock, like Air Supply and Jorney. We thought it could be hilarious to throw a party in that theme: dress up and maybe get long hair wigs, and blast "Making Love Out of Nothing At All". Never happened, but maybe one day...
We usually do dinner/drink parties. We like wine, and theme the party and food around one bottle of red and what bottle of white and what goes great with those.

Dinner and wine is always good! I'm into port at the moment
Glam rock would be a cool theme! All that spandex and sparkle hehe

Re: Parties!
We have a Neighborhood Poker Tour. Every Halloween we have a theme for dressing up to get extra chips. One year we all had to dress up as the opposite gender. My DH and I went as Hef and one of his bunnies. I was Hef.
Last year it was to dress up as an era. We chose the 80's and went as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World from SNL and the movies.
We also have a more sedate Holiday party in the neighborhood. We have done Mexican, Chinese, Italian, a Luau, and Mardi Gras. The Luau and Mardi Gras were very fun and you could get a little more "spicy" with those if you wanted.
What about a Pirate party? 50's (a sock hop)could also be very fun. We also had one friend who missed out on prom in high school....so we had a prom in college, but it was not a school event. It was a blast, too.
I have done a ton of kid parties, too. Those might not translate well to adult, but it depends on who you are. Power Puff Girls anyone? Or Wizard Academy? Perhaps Water Balloon Olympics or Star Wars?

Re: Parties!
Pirate parties are always cool! And cave men/girls... someone also suggested bin bags... you have to make your costume just out of bin bags! The opposite gender playboy one sounds hillarious if not a little disturbing hehehe!!

Re: Parties!
1. Pirates vs. Ninjas
2. 80s Cartoons
3. Magic Word party - "don't say the magic word!" - and have a penalty for doing so (stripping, drinking, paying money... )
4. Fondue 70s Party
5. Progressive Dinner (salad at one house, soup at the next... etc)
6. Disco Fever
7. Spring Break in January
8. Christmas in July
9. Finger Painting (or Graffiti-the-Garage if you're a homeowner - if you don't really want your walls painted you can hang a sheet)
I could go on.... but I won't.
