makeup brushes: cleanser/conditioner?

Post by zeebs » Sat May 09, 2009 8:02 pm

Hi ladies,
Do any of you use those spray-on makeup brush cleaners?

If so...

1. Do they actually condition the brushes like they claim?
2. Do they work on natural-hair brushes?
3. What are the ingredients?

Thanks!

I use Johnson and Johnson's Baby shampoo :P

It seems to work well on my synthetic brushes. It is quite a toughie to wash out the suds and make sure its 100% clean of cleanser, but I like that it works and is cheap. I use the pink one -- its got glycerin in it, so maybe that's why my brushes have a smooth, conditioned feel to it when I'm done. Doesn't seem to hurt the picking up of powder.

There's a version of homemade cleanser by Enkore:

I've used that too, but I haven't replnished my stock of the hair serum, so I just use Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo alone for now. But when I get some, I'll go back to using the home made cleanser. Its excellent for spot cleaning. Then every fortnight, I'll do a deep cleaning on Sat so that it has the whole of Sun to dry.
