but good grief, woman!
DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF A REHAB CENTER FOR MAKE-UP-AHOLICS?

Is it time for an intervention?

If had that much mmu(and posted it publically) I think my husband would take me out back and shoot me. I am reeling in shock out your collection!

Wow...that's truly impressive. I knew you had a lot of stuff- pretty much one of everything, but to see it all displayed like that is just incredible. Your stash is much more organized than mine. One of these days I'll haul it all out and take a pic...I have everything SN has ever made (of course)- but then there are all of the things I buy for dupes- which literally fills 2 giant rubbermaid bins- just heaped full. I'll never clone it all, I never wear it, but I just like buying makeup- always have.

About a year ago we had a contest where I cleaned all the lippies out of my purse, and nightstand- nothing new, and you had to guess the number of lippies in the pile. It was 42, and if you had more lippies than that and sent me a pic you could win a prize too. Of course, Sam was a winner- but I'll never forget it as long as I live...one woman had to send me 5 pictures to accurately depict the size of her lippie collection. There were SN ones in there- but there were tons and tons more Chanel, Dior and the other high-end brands. There was another woman who had them all artfully displayed on her dining-room table. There were easily 400 in the pic.

I figure that lots of people have lots of expensive kicks- purses, shoes, gadgets, fast cars- a little SN is nothing compared to a Birkin bag, a pair of Jimmy Choo's, or a classic Mustang. Although I have to admit that even my DH doesn't quite know the extent of my collection . Every marriage needs a bit of mystery, right? ;)

Thank you so much Sam, you make me feel soooo much better about placing like 4 orders in 3 weeks...

I just received the last one, and I have another cart ready (I always fill my cart just after I placed an order, and then change it like 20 times before actually placing this order, but I just can't have an empty cart - crazy right?).
Just waiting for my points to be credited to get a nice discount, and then I'll just add a few more things and press the Checkout button

lol. Well, HIS vice is videogames and expensive books (and he generally buys *high end* on anything he wants. read "expensive") so we're about on par with the spending, we just have different vices. At least I keep mine in a closet. His videogames are out on display.

lol. Besides- i gave him a whole room for a library in our new house- and the big closet for his own (and half of mine) and a drawer in the dresser he refused to help me buy- he can't complain about my closet full of makeup. AND, i still get ready in less time than he does! hahahahahahaha. *We're still not in an "our money" phase. I have "my money" in my account, he has "his money" in his account, and we have just recently introduced "our money" in a separate account to be used strictly for wedding expenses and bills. We both work 40+ hours a week. I have my debt and he has his. We don't pay it together. He can't really say anything about how I spend my money. If it was "our money", it might be different. ;p

12 step program to creating the addiction:
Step 1: Sample (And i have a LOT of samples- see the blush board? 4 fullsizes, lots of samples)
Step 2: Touch that first synthetic brush
Step 3: Create a "go-to" basics set (foundation, finisher, blush, shadow, liner, and lippie- oh and of course a couple basic brushes!)
Step 4: Try new things (new colors!yay!)
Step 5: Advanced Techniques need new powders! (contouring, glows, special liner shades, and more brushes)
Step 6: Collect them All! (ahem- from the girl that has/had ALL the lippies!!! muahahahaha)
Step 7: Keep it fresh! New Season, new colors
Step 8: Purging the Stash (send unloved colors to new homes)
Step 9: Empty Palette Syndrome (aka: Rebuilding the stash)
Step 10: Enabling Others
Step 11: Because you DESERVE it purchases (Big bonus, tax return, stressful weeks)
Step 12: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

***I may point out that I do not have one of EVERYTHING. I'm allergic to the gel liners so I don't have ANY of those. lol

Omg, Sam, you are hilarious! I just reread my post, and I expect it sounded waaaaaay more prissy and sanctimonious than I meant it, and I hope you weren't offended. That was not my intent at all. I expect I am a little jealous. I love my DH and kids dearly, but sometimes I miss the days of not having to account to anybody but myself, especially when it came to disposable income :P
