Carnation/Rose Solid Perfume?

Post by freesilk » Wed Apr 15, 2009 10:56 am

Hi Karyn!

I've tried a lot of samples of the solid perfumes that SN offers, but I've yet to come across one that I loved as much as LUSH's Potion solid perfume. Problem is, they discontinued it a few months ago, and I can't seem to find anything comprable anywhere! It's a fragrant bouquet of carnation with a hint of rose and I'd say a touch of ylang ylang also. LUSH online has a retro Potion scented lotion, though I personally haven't tried it, I'd assume it would smell the same. I would also be willing to part with a sample of what I have left if you decide to try to clone it. It is such a unique and beautiful scent, I am sure it would be a huge hit!

Thanks for reading,
Sonia

Hi freesilk,

I live in the UK & have used Lush for YEARS.....Potion solid perfume was created because customers loved the scent of the original Potion lotion so much, so it should smell exactly the same as the solid perfume you have.

Hey kitten,

are you happy with Lush? Started using it, not sure yet. I am using AquaMArina cleanser which I love.

Hi shirin,

I am happy with them in some ways (they have a wide range of fun products which make great presents for hard-to-buy-for girls, they smell great & do not test on animals) but I think that like many companies they paint themselves to be much more natural than they actually are. I did used to be a complete Lush fiend though!!!! I got into their stuff around 10 years ago - began with the usual bath products (ballistics, bubblebar slices etc) and then began trying various of their skin care items, hair & body products - at one point I'm sure pretty much everything in my bathroom arsenal was from Lush.

I was diagnosed with a skin problem (melasma) a few years back which meant I started being much more vigilant about what I put on it, & began avoiding not just chemical 'nasties' but other potentially photosensitizing ingredients too (like certain essential oils - a small risk I know, but you can't be too careful); I noticed that some of their things contained parabens, sodium laureth sulphate etc, and started reading the labels more closely which ruled a lot of things out for me. And although some girls swear by their skincare range I never hit upon a combination of products which was right for me & so I started using other genuinely natural brands instead (really glad to hear you like Aqua Marina though).

I buy bath ballistics occassionally as a treat (& often get a couple for Xmas in a stocking from my Mum), I have a massage bar which I keep to use as a solid body lotion when travelling, and I buy their Buffy & You Snap the Whip body butter/scrub bars from time to time - if I see something I like the look/sound of now I read the ingredients label before buying, and have given up on their facial skin care line completely.
