Perfecting Powder or Blur??
Perfecting Powder or Blur??
I do not know which of these to get. In your opinion which is better? Which one makes your pores appear smaller better?? That is a main concern of mine!! Thanks!

Re: Perfecting Powder or Blur??
I have to say- that the Oil Control Blur, used in context with other products I use, do a far better job of controlling the oilies than anything I've ever used. That said, if you hate pink, don't get the tinted- get the untinted.
I use my products in conjunction with the SN foundation, Oil Control Primer Powder....and I use Camellia Rose's Pearl Cream underneath it all. So far, it's been a big winning combination for me.

Re: Perfecting Powder or Blur??
perfecting powder works so much better for me, but i have dry-ish skin. i *think* (but this is just my own theory) that blur has more silica, which my skin does not like. blur did not make my pores appear smaller, but PP definitely does.
Re: Perfecting Powder or Blur??
I have oily skin with visible pores. Although I like the oil-controlling capabilities of the Oil Control Blur, I find that the original perfecting Powder is still the best as far as the "blurring" effect goes. I use the PP as my finishing powder and just dust a bit of Oil Control Blur on top for oil control.

Re: Perfecting Powder or Blur??
I have all the PPs and the Blurs.
The untinted Blur and Oil Control Blur looks like white powder but goes on invisible.
The tinted Oil Control Blur is a light tan shade that does give my skin a tint. Its perfect for when I mix my foundation a little too light.
i did find that the oil control blur really keeps the oilies at bay (I like in humid Singapore). However, it does have more of a "dusty, grainy" feel compared to the PPs.
Still, I pick the Oil Control Blur because after a few minutes, it settles with my skin's natural oils and the powdery, dusty feel is gone.
For me, its a matter of situation. If I'm just going out in the evening for dinner, its PP. If I am off to work and I need my face to last the whole nine yards, then its OCB.

Re: Perfecting Powder or Blur??
I have been around a while, and I have always been big fan of the Perfecting Powders. I think it is mostly habit. I don't have my jar of blur with my daily makeup........maybe it is time to pull it out!
My guess is that I will like the Blur better in the summer months when my skin is not so dry.

Re: Perfecting Powder or Blur??
I'm a PP girl too- it was my first recipe ever, and I still love it. I use it over foundation- if I'm skipping foundation I go for just Blur. It kind of depends on your oil level- the Blurs have more silica in them- which does give a nice effect, but it really absorbs oil. The Perfecting Powders have mica in them to help diffuse light but without as much oil absorption.
It's a your mileage may vary type of thing...samples of both probably wouldn't hurt.

Re: Perfecting Powder or Blur??
I actually like to use a blend of both. I find that the Blur really takes out the fine lines and texture issues whereas the PP obscures the pores better. Since I have both issues, I blend them, and because I have dry skin, I mix in some silk powder, too. HTH... if your main concern is pore visibility, I suspect PP will work best.
