Pastel Eyeshadow colours

Post by Ghost » Wed Mar 04, 2009 4:21 pm

Hi

I would love to see more pastel, matte colours. Some nice light ones for spring would be lovely. I love shimmering eyeshadows but sometimes you just want a soft, light look you can only get with pastels.

Agreed. Lilac is also an old make-up artist's trick to counter-act tiredness. It pulls the eye away from the dark circle under the eye and brightens the look. Can't remember the explanation, but I remember trying it and being impressed. (A small dab of concealer at the outer corner of the eye also works too, by the way).

I agree too! Do you want them sheer- like Vanilla and Lilac, or do you want them more along the lines of the satins like Sandy? Allure magazine just predicted Plums, and Lavenders along with pear greens.

Hi Karen

Personnally I would love matte ones (great for soft looks), but if you don't want to do that then the satin finish. Also could I add a sort of baby pink colour to the list of pastels.

I am a sucker for the satin finish. I have come to the conclusion that my tired eyes need that little bit of glow in a light eye color to liven them up a little. Light mattes on my tired eyes look kind of chalky, no matter how well they are made. I just need a little something extra in the lighter colors.

I am so bummed......I had Lilac, too, from a while back........I just can't locate it right now! I was wondering how close it was to Satin and Chiffon.

Hey Jen

Lilac is more close to Chiffon then satin. Imagine Whipped cream with the whiteness toned down with some chiffon - thats lilac. Its more a shimmer then a satin finish. Lovely colour.

Thank you for your generosity, Cathleen. You are so sweet! I really don't need it, I was mostly wanting to know for comparison's sake. I have Chiffon which I love, I just could not remember what Lilac looked like. It is probably around here under my nose, anyway.
