Hi,
This is my first post here, but I have been using SN for a while now and LOVE the eye colors!
I just ordered a few more , including Idolize.
Just wondering how you ladies apply Idolize?
I am very simple --I usually just do an allover wash of Bare--using it more heavily on the lid
and then use a black liner with some charcoal/slate colored shadow smudged over the line to soften it.
I can't do multistep eyeshadow looks in the morning--but really want to try Idolize--
I would appreciate some ideas for it!
Thanks!
How do you use Idolize?
Re: How do you use Idolize?
Well, I just got it a week ago (and it's love!) Two ways, so far. First as a lid wash with very black mascara for the softest, gentlest smokey eye. Secondly, I did a light lid wash with Superstar, then dabbed Idolize onto the outer third of my lid to just beyond the end. Added a fine thin neutral dark brown liner and black mascara on my upper lid and it worked out beautiful (I couldn't believe my eyes could look that good, they hadn't before). Idolize has a morphing kind of quality, it seems to have such complexity that used alone or over another colour, it picks out a tone in the skin or shadow colour and brings it alive. Really sophisticated product.
Re: How do you use Idolize?
You could always use Idolize similarly to the way you use your charcoal color. Or, you could do the outer 'vee' wich is just a bit on the outer part of your upper lashline and the outer part of your crease.
Did you see this page that Karen made up? http://www.silknaturals.com/callouts/Ey ... grams.html
It shows lots of ideas. Idolize could be used wherever there is a medium or dark color. Idolize goes very well with Bare.

Re: How do you use Idolize?
Thanks Helena and Jen!
Good to hear that Idolize pairs well with Bare!
I also got Basalt--think it might be a nice "smudger"
to go with Idolize--
My next order will include some black cream liner, raven es, dolce es, slick es
lurid and mink.....I am sure there will be more!!
I LOVE the lippie colors--but sadly my lips have a bad reaction to jojoba!
But I am a total SN eyeshadow junkie! I tell everyone at work about it when I get
compliments on my eyes!

Re: How do you use Idolize?
Well, I think Idolize goes with everything. I kind of have this problem where I think all colors go with all other colors, so take this advice with a grain of salt.
But I think Idolize looks fantastic with anything purple or blue. I also wear it with pinks and golds and silvers. I think it would look amazing with brown, but I (oddly) don't have any brown shadows at the moment so I'd be hard-pressed to say which brown to choose. Something taupeish but not too grey, or maybe something chocolate. I am thinking, like, Idolize on the lid, Mousse on the outer corner (or anything chocolate brownish), something like Taupetastic or Eu-taupe-ia to blend and contour, and Cream or Vanilla to highlight and blend. Slick would work, too, instead of a taupe. I think this would be excellent and sophisticated and kind of avant-garde neutral in a way.
Idolize can be an all-over wash if done carefully. You can use it heavily on the lid or lightly as a highlight. It's super-versatile. Usually I wear Idolize on the lid and something lighter to highlight, but I've also used a dark lid color with Idolize blended to highlight.

Re: How do you use Idolize?
Thank you so much Zeebs!
Great ideas!
Sounds like it is very versatile, so that's wonderful!
I use Bare the same way--very lightly as a highlight color and load it up for more color on the lid!
Okay, I feel MUCH better about my purchase of it--I was torn between a few different colors!
Thanks ladies.....

Re: How do you use Idolize?
I love it as a simple wash for the daytime, and I stick a bit of Gasp in the inner corner for a lighter shade - perfect for the mornings when I can use a bit more sparkle to open up my eyes
