Color comparisons

Post by Heathcliff79 » Sun Oct 26, 2008 10:24 pm

Hi! After getting Karen's Elegant Browns quad, I'm addicted to her browns. I also got Brown Sugar, Mink, Spice, and Bittersweet, which I love, and I'm thinking of getting a few more colors...

- How does Morel compare with Mousse and Mocha? Is Morel a lot warmer (re: orange)? What do you usually match it to?

- How does Brown Sugar compare with Sierra? Are they about the same depth of color? Would Brown Sugar pair with Sandstone, or would Sierra be a much much better match?

Thanks again for the advice you ladies give! It's always so helpful! :-D

(I'm also thinking of pairing a brown with a green like Gator Gold or Grassroots Green -- which brown would be better?)

Here is a swatch pic with Morel, Mousse, and Mocha (even right in a row!)

Morel could be matched with any neutral of varying depth. I tend to pair just about everything with Vanilla, but it would be lovely with your Posh or Cream.

Sierra is just a little warmer brown than Brown Sugar and they are a similar depth. Both will look lovely with Sandstone in my opinion.

Thanks so much Jen! This is really really helpful! I think I'm going to get the quad with Honey + Mocha + Mousse + Bittersweet. I love the combination of matte + shimmer, and the finish on the mattes look really velvety and lovely. :-D
