Magpie Vs Lunar?

Post by Yisha » Sat Jun 01, 2013 10:29 am

Hello,
I'm preparing a gift for my mother, who loves light blue eyeshadows, light pink as well. I bought an empty palette and I'm planning on bying 4 eyeshadows that i'll press. I already selected Lunar because she saw it and loved it, Doubloons because it's a classy color, Hug me because the green interferance is so surprising, and I was searching for another one, a blue color.
I saw on the website Magpie, it seems perfect for her, but I'd like to be sure it's different from Lunar. If someone has these two, would it be possible to have a comparison (swatch would be top!)? Thanks!

Hi Yisha,
the eye shadow hug me is no longer available, it was one of the shadows that was discontinued recently.:( I am happy I grabbed a jar before they were gone ! I love doubloons :) If you are looking for another lovely blue , butterfly blue is really nice. Magpie is quite different from Lunar. Phyrra has some great swatches of all those colours and then some.http://www.phyrra.net/2010/07/silk-natu ... tched.html
Magpie is swatched on this page http://www.phyrra.net/2011/09/silk-natu ... tches.html
Hope this helped.

Thank you catlover !
In fact I already bought Hug Me... twice. One for me, then, when I decided to make an eyeshadow palette for my mother, I bought another one because it's such a funny colour, not the kind of pink you'll find anywhere.
Many thanks for Butterfly blue, I think it's the perfect match for her ! I was afraid Magpie would be a little too intense, too dark for her, but butterfly blue is just the kind of blue she likes to wear.

(and I agree with you for Doubloons, it's beautiful ! I never saw this kind of color before, but then again Karen creates so many unique colors !)

So I think my choice will be Lunar/Butterfly Blue/Doubloons/Hug Me :D I'll also buy her a lippie, she likes plummy lippies so I think I'll buy Infatuation.

Glad I was able to help Yisha :) I loveeee hug me ! I'm so very glad I decided to get it, i think it's an interesting shade, I love how it wakes up my eyes, the green interference is flattering and fun. I will have to get butterfly blue I have been eyeing it for some time, it looks like a fun one, and I need a shimmery light blue to add to my collection. ;) I would say 99% of my eyeshadow collection is Sn and there hasn't been a colour that disappointed me! I'm sure your mom will love her gift ;) have a nice weekend. Lisa
