Kapow GWP

Post by karen » Fri May 03, 2013 8:58 pm

The ingredients are on the front page, but I thought I'd list them here so we have a record of it when I change the GWP next week.
Ingredients: Oleic/linoleic/linolenic polyglycerides, Castor and Meadowfoam Seed Oils, Vanilla Infused coconut oil, Nylon 3, D&C colors

It's actually a new formula- the black light dyes don't like to be heated, so I had to change things slightly. It applies sheer- it's actually really pretty (along the lines of Damsel), and it does stain a little bit. I don't think this one has a big chance of being added to the site (it's sort of a pain to make) so if you like it grab it.

Have fun with it!!!

Will this be included in the MAC box? This looks awesome! (I'm willing to place a small order if you twist my arm, though.) ;) :D

Oh yes! It's going into the MAC package. I've been plotting, and I think we're going to have fun :)

Could you tell us more about the Nylon 3 ingredient? I am assuming this is what makes it black light sensitive since the other ingredients have been in previous lip products, but not this new one. I tried to look for it myself in the Skin Deep database, but couldn't find it.

Is the shelf life on this the same as other lippies?

Nylon is what makes it blacklight sensitive. It's FDA approved for eyes and lips (although the dyes are only approved for lips), and it's approved for medical devices. Given that it can be used inside the human body I figured it was safe for one time fun GWP lippie.

As for shelf life- I'm hoping you can get a year out of it, and there's a chance it could be longer. Meadowfoam is very slow to go bad.

I just got my order with Kapow today and I love everything about it. The bright orange suits my complexion as does the colour you get from blotting. I love the thickness of the formula as well as the slip - it doesn't feel tacky or dry.

If anyone who got Kapow doesn't want it, I'll gladly buy it off of you.

This is a great color. It scared me at first, but I really sheered it out and it's lovely.
