hello, it's been a while since i've visited this site/used silknaturals but i am back in search of a serum. i've tried a few of them in the past, and only one of them stung like CRAZY, but the problem is that i can't remember which one it was. i'm 95% sure it was either super serum or the awesome sauce anti-oxidant serum.
looking at my purchase history makes me think it was the anti-oxidant serum because apparently i had ordered a sample of the super serum in the past. (so why would i have ordered a full size if it stung, right?) but before going through the history i was fairly sure that it WAS the super serum.
any insights? any idea what ingredient it could be in these 2 serums that don't agree with my skin?
thanks for your help
SN serums!
Re: SN serums!
Of all the serums I can't wear the Super Serum. This is the one that has niacinamide. On this forum and other skin care forums people did report reactions. ( I had flushing.) More so than the other serums. It is powerful stuff. Use with caution if sensitive. Be sure and patch test.
There is more than one antioxidant serum. I really like the Awesome sauce and the Facelift serum. Different formulas and both contain vitamin C. SN uses the stable MAP serum. Wonderful list of ingredients and no silicone or waxes. Well formulated. I buy both and alternate.
I also have the Green Tea and aloe serum. This is more cost effective and a larger bottle. Recommended for oily skin. But I think anyone can benefit from these two ingredients.
I really like that we can check our order history.

Re: SN serums!
I'm another one who had a reaction to super serum but use the awesome sauce without an issue and really like that one.
What issues are you looking to address with your serum?
If you are looking for an antioxidant, anti-aging, somewhat anti-acne serum, I would recommend you try the vitamin C peptide or, if you are quite sure it was the super serum you reacted to, you could always get a small sample of awesome sauce and try it again to see if your skin tolerates it. (I only recommend this because I really, really like awesome sauce and I would hate for you to not be able to use it without being totally sure that you have a reaction to it
But I would understand too if you just want to try something else, and I think you would like the vitamin C a lot -- I don't think hardly anyone has sensitivity issues with that one).
If you mostly just need a hydrating step in your routine to keep your skin balanced, you can try the green tea/aloe, oatmeal, or rose serums. The green tea is very gentle, the oatmeal the most hydrating...I like them all, including the smell of the rose
You can use these hydrating serums along with the antioxidant ones if you need to. Some people find that the awesome sauce is hydrating enough on it's own.

Re: SN serums!
thank you for the replies!
i think it was the awesome sauce serum
reason is because i'm using a gow product right now with niacinamide with no problems whatsoever.
i will probably order samples of both again just to be sure, but i wonder what ingredient in awesome sauce is giving me problems?

Re: SN serums!
It could be any of them. That's the unfortunate thing, any ingredient in skin care has the potential to cause irritation/allergic reactions/etc. in any one person. That being said, I don't know if there is something in awesome sauce that has a "reputation" for being more irritating to some.
