International Orders

Post by Oxana124 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 8:58 am

I've been doing lots of videos on Silk Naturals on my Russian YouTube channel :) Wanted to share my love for this company with the world )
Is there any details that are applicable to international orders that I should share (since I'm in the US I never really know if placing an Intl. order is much different).
Shipping is free for over $125 for Intl too right? And they still get all the perks like GWPs, free shadow for orders over $30, points....
Is there any customs/import duty stuff that has to be paid for orders to Russia, does anyone know?
Just trying to add more info and details to my videos :)

Yes, everything that applies to the US applies to international orders as well. I'm not 100% sure what the customs limit is to Russia. I know we've shipped quite a few big orders there, but I haven't heard anything about customs charges or anything like that.
The videos sound fun!!!

I get part of my orders in Russia and the largest one was $60 with something and quite heavy. I was veeeery nervous, but a month later I got it. But I was so worried that now I ask to split my order.
To Moscow it arrives in 14-45 days. Usually 20-30. Hih

P.S. If I missed something interesting feel free to ask.

Have experienced receiving SN orders in two different countries. And yes, as Karen said, everything stated in the website applies to international customers as well.

Indonesia (Jakarta): packages arrived within 14 days the latest. In my case, mostly 10 days. Below $20 there's no custom applied. Below $50, usually around $5. The bigger the order, the higher custom will apply. But guess what, no official customs rate for this. Errgh.
S****y (sorry, can't help it!) customs in Indonesia ruined everything when SN decided to no longer ship because bigger orders most of the times got detained in the customs. And I believe it's mainly not for security reason. It's just because the people are lazy-bums and they do it just because *my blood's boiling*.

Netherlands (Leiden): packages arrived between 7 days after being dispatched. 10 days maximum. Although if you look it up on the internet, it always says there might be customs applied, I have never been charged a dime.
The only problem is the mailman always comes whenever I'm not home (while I'm outside most of the days anyway) while if a package does not fit into the mailbox then we have to greet the mailman at the door or, if he already leaves, pick it up in the post-office. The pick-up time is ideally 2 days after, since the same or the next day, they haven't arranged the new coming packages in the office and recalling the customer un-service tradition, there's no point hurrying the post-office people.

frckls,

They charged fee for under $50? Well, I recently placed and order of $40ish (not to SN, but the same rule and all...) and it arrived safely, no additional charges whatsoever.

But again, the custom in Indonesia is confusing, to put it mildly.

Really?? You got lucky then. See how messed up Indonesian custom is?? Btw, my housemate sister is going to fly back home on early February. I'll ask her to bring all those little packages of SN for you and my sisters and their friends. BTW, I opened both packages and put them together so they won't take too much space, is that okay?
