Does anyone have a swatch of these side by side? I've been intrigued by Black Dahlia but fear the purple-leaning that I've seen in some pictures of it. I don't do well with colors that have heavy purple tones. I enjoy the KS formula but am twitterpated with ALG.
Thanks for thoughts/pictures.

Re: Black Dahlia vs. Captivate
I don't have both, but I do have Black Dahlia--it doesn't read purple at all on my lips. Kind of a blackened or greyed out raspberry color, maybe. I love it, a lot. My lips are pretty pigmented, though, so it doesn't feel dark or "vampy" on me at all, which I have seen it described as. It's actually even a daywear color for me.
Re: Black Dahlia vs. Captivate
Thank you for drawing my attention to Captivate. Black Dahlia is my go to color when I'm too lazy to put any makeup on. Something about the color brings out a lot of subtle polish. I'm interested if Captivate will have the same effect.
Re: Black Dahlia vs. Captivate
Just wondering if anyone has one or both of these colors. What is the shimmer like (I can't do chuncky shimmer, just fine shimmer).
Re: Black Dahlia vs. Captivate
I have both. The shimmer seems about the same to me in both. It's not chunky/obvious like Electra, Fizz, Winter Rose or Dancing Shoes.
As for the shade, I love Black Dahlia. If Black Dahlia is blackened raspberry, then Captivate is blackened plum. My skin is closer to medium than fair and I can pull off a wide range of plums but Captivate is way, way too dark for me. It gives me a very stark, Halloweeny gothic look that I just can't do. Captivate on fairer skin tones is definitely for a girl who can pull off a deep, dramatic look. It's odd. Swatched on my hand, they don't look too different but on my lips, Captivate looks so much darker. It's a nice plum but it's just too much for me.

Re: Black Dahlia vs. Captivate
Thanks so much for your reply, it really helped me out. Sounds like on me Captivate would give me the dreaded corpse lips!! If there is one look I can't pulll off is goth (I am more of an Eddie Bauer/Carhartt type)!! I do love a bold lip, so Black Dahlia sounds like a good choice!!!tardis wrote:I have both.
