It's a good 18months or so since I last sampled the SN skincare (darned budget). I've dutifully used up the last of what I'd bought and am ready to stock up. From looking around the brands I'm familiar with, SN covers all the bases. I'm unfamilair with the choices and could use some pointers please.
My skin needs something calming and balancing. I'm 37, not in the best of health but nothing complicated. My skin is fairly clear regarding breakouts but prone to congestion on the classic T-zone. There's some fine peeling and tenderness in seemingly random patches around my nose, cheeks and mouth, unrelated to anything consistent. My skin is mostly dehydrated and sometimes oily, likes but lacks regular exfoliation and doesn't like too many layers of product. It improved a lot when I stopped using 4-5 different layers of product in my daily skincare / makeup routine. I've lost the radiance in my skin, it's looking rather grey and lifeless. My aim is to try to look healthy and a balanced skin again. All recs welcome. Cheers.

Re: Need recs for skincare
I might be not experiencing yet the 30s, but I used to be oily and dehydrated as well. I started off using Aloe-Greentea, but then I tried oatmeal serum, and that's perfect. It's super hydrating, not overly-moisturizing, so I don't turn into a greaseball later the day. Me and my sisters love this. We believe this is what helps our skin glow.
I used to layer it with Super Serum sample underneath, then VitaminC-Peptide sample, but now I'm using Awesome Sauce, and I believe it helps my skin tone to even out.
My sister is using Serum Sample and she now gets her super-glow back after a really bad outbreak. Her skin is dry.
We don't really use toners, heheh.
But we do add another moisturizer afterwards. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast during the day, and EMC at night.
Oh. And we are in love with the Microdermabrasion Gel. It's awesome.

Re: Need recs for skincare
I am 39. Less is better for my skin w/ both makeup and skincare products. I work outside so I always have to have sunscreen on, big pain in the butt. I use the Kiss Cleanser (very diluted), spray SN's Lavander Ph Toner in my hand and use only where needed, add a drop of SN's Vit C Serum w/ DMAE to my sunscreen (CeraVE AM)...mix up in my hand and apply. I get a glow from the vit c serum which I don't get from the super serum (great product). As needed I add a bit of the Microderm Gel w/ the Kiss Cleanser to exfoliate. SN's BHA is very nice, but a bit too strong for my crazy skin, I would sample it. In the PM I use a VIt A product...from the drugstore.
You can't beat Sn's quality and prices!

General routine:
Cleanse, Exfoliate/Tone, Treat, Hydrate/Moisturize
Exfoliation of some kind will do wonders for your skin. I remember around your age (probably a little earlier) that all I had to do was manual exfoliation about three times a week and my skin looked pretty good. I recommend one of our Microdermabrasion products...I usually recommend the gel most of the time, but the cream is pretty outstanding in the drier winter months. I almost always did the manual exfoliation in the shower after cleansing. I know once I got little older (now 41), the AHA toner was better. If you have sensitive skin, the AHA toner might take some getting used to.
For general serum, I echo what was said about the Oatmeal Serum. The best one for general hydration. For treatment serums, my favorite right now is Awesome Sauce. The Vitamin C Peptide is also good. I am not sure the Facelift is for you just yet. Super Serum is good, too, but I think one of the first two I mentioned would be more utilitarian in that that you could get by with one treatment serum.
For a moisturizer, (I am assuming where you live one would be very benificial), I like the Firming, but the Camellia Passionfruit is a good budget one. It does have a bit of an earthy/natural smell from the Green Tea part of the mix.
You could add a toner, too, but you might want to think about adding that in later. I tend to like the Lavendar Toner the best. And starting with a cleansing routine is good....I know on a budget that the KISS cleanser lasts a very long time especially if it is diluted. It is best diluted, too, as it can be kind of harsh on the skin if it is not.
